Tonight’s episode begins with Andre who has a nightmare about the shooting. He wakes Brandy. She is concerned. He doesn’t want to talk about it.

Regina holds a community press conference. She tells people she plans to have more officers on foot patrol to combat violence in the city. After, John tells her her would have appreciated a heads up. Regina is then called to a fire at a salon. A body has been found. Meanwhile, John receives some heat from his superior for Regina promising more foot patrol in the city.

Tommy and Crystal visit the scene of the fire. Someone used a gas in the basement of the salon on purpose with the safe tampered with. Someone was up to no good. They head to speak to the owners who share they recently fired a manager. Later, Tommy learns this manager was also the victim of the fire. This may now be a murder case.

Tommy and Crystal visit the victim’s sister. She shares that her brother recently started acting differently. Meanwhile, Regina and John speak on her push for more officers on the ground. He seems to have changed his tune a little and retracted his support. Regina calls him out on changing his mind. She believes it has to do with his decision to run for police commissioner.

Tommy and Crystal learn their victim was stabbed in the neck and didn’t actually die from the fire.

Marvin and Andre finally talk more about his recent PTSD issues while on a stake out. Marvin tells him that he left him in that dispensary too long but didn’t want to tell him that. They see their target leave and give Tommy and Crystal a heads up. They follow their suspect in the fire and discover the salon owners are actually trafficking people.

Regina meets with the DA the next day. Since the salon owners were not at the scene of the trafficking they need the couple to flip on one another. Meanwhile, John tells his team he is not going against Regina and her plan for more foot coverage by the police. They decide to put a PR spin on it.

The salon owner’s wife turns on him. She gives her statement. They have a firm case against the couple. The PR specialist asks John out. He accepts.

Regina is cleared for duty. During the meeting she asks the psychiatrist what she thinks of Regina on a personal level. She just started dating and is having trust issues. It might have to do with her father.
