General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 29, reveals that Yuri (Cyrus Hobbi) had a plan to help Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta), but Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) grew concerned when she heard about the mob drama her grandmother had stirred up.
Nevertheless, Yuri told everyone to just stick to the plan and eventually let Mr. Pete Petrov in once he arrived. It turns out Yuri gave Mr. Petrov’s nephew trombone lessons and taught him how to play beautifully, so that’s why Mr. Petrov agreed to take this meeting.
Gloria didn’t see why she should apologize for offending Mr. Petrov’s wife since she didn’t think she’d done anything wrong. Mr. Petrov almost stormed out, but Brook Lynn managed to smooth things over by offering his nephew a spot on a popular artist’s tour.
Gloria reluctantly agreed she’d never go back to that church for bingo or anything else, so Petrov was satisfied as long as Brook Lynn helped out his nephew.
At home, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) told Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) about her furniture disaster since she tried to save money by putting together a desk herself and found it impossible.
That led to Maxie opening up about the mountain of credit card debt she was facing and all her financial woes now that she was in a bigger house. Felicia insisted on giving Maxie some money to tide her over until Deception turned things around.
Felicia also wanted to look at her retirement portfolio with Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and see what they could liquidate to help Maxie. Although Maxie tried to refuse, Felicia suggested they could work out a repayment plan later.
Maxie thought they should take more time to mull over this solution since she didn’t want to bail herself out at Felicia and Mac’s expense.
At the Port Charles Grill, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) came back for her forgotten phone and saw Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) in a meeting with Claire Brown (Lyn Alicia Henderson), the surrogacy matching professional.
Once the meeting was over, Alexis approached Molly and offered to listen if she wanted to talk. Molly admitted she’d started looking for a new surrogate, but TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) felt it was too soon and feared they were setting themselves up for more heartbreak.
Although Molly just wanted to see the other options, Alexis said she really needed to talk to TJ since this had to be something they both wanted.
At the hospital, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) refused to let Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) take any more of Dede Clark’s (Shelley Robertson) questions until the deposition. Martin also pointed out that if the hospital hired Dede to blame Finn, then he could shift all the blame back on GH.
That’s why Martin thought it was in everyone’s best interest to focus on the truth, which was that both Finn and the hospital did everything according to procedure.
Although Finn was impressed with the way Martin handled things, Martin seemed nervous about the case and pointed out that the hospital could go for a settlement to buy their way out of trouble. If that happened, they wouldn’t hesitate to throw Finn under the bus.
At the PCPD, Detective Briscoe (Patrick Smith) wanted to make sure there was no conflict of interest with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), since he shot Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) cousin two months ago in Briscoe’s jurisdiction.
Dante wondered if they expected him to take himself off the case, but Detective Briscoe wasn’t asking Dante to do that – at least not right now.
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) showed up to help with the investigation, so Detective Briscoe went over the details of a neighbor finding Austin’s body since the door was wide open.
Detective Briscoe knew it was unlikely that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) snuck out police custody at GH to go after Austin, but he wanted confirmation on his whereabouts just in case.
Briscoe also wanted info on who Austin associated with, so he found out Austin had been close to Ava Jerome (Maura West).
At the Metro Court, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shocked Ava with the news that Austin was deceased, so she asked how it happened. Sonny suggested Ava should tell him, but Ava protested that she didn’t even know about it until just now.
If Ava was responsible for this, Sonny urged her to tell him now. Ava couldn’t be a mother to Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) in prison, so Sonny warned her not to waste time and make it harder for him to cover her tracks.
Ava assured Sonny that she had nothing to do with this and learned more details about Austin’s grim fate. After Ava filled Sonny in on her last confrontation with Austin at the gallery, he pointed out that Austin could’ve spilled the beans about Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss).
Sonny felt like that could give Ava a motive and make her a prime suspect, so he felt she’d need to convince the cops of her innocence.
At the hospital, Dante told Mason about Austin’s demise and revealed what went down in Pautuck. After Dante suggested providing information could help Mason cut a deal, he asked if Mason had any idea who might’ve done this to Austin.
Mason pointed the finger at Ava Jerome before Dante told him that he’d be transferred to Pentonville tonight.
Back at the Quartermaine mansion, Chase stopped back by to say goodbye to Gloria before she left for the bus station. Gloria couldn’t resist grilling Chase and Brook Lynn about when they were going to get married, so they both looked uncomfortable.
