General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, October 27, reveals that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) showed up to see Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) at The Invader and commented on how nicely Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) was settling into her receptionist role.
Esme eavesdropped after she exited and seemed curious about what the women were saying about her.
Laura was grateful to Alexis for keeping an eye on Esme while she was looking for Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss).
The good news was Laura got proof that Nikolas was alive, but the bad news was he didn’t want to be found.
Although Alexis doubted there would be real charges waiting for Nikolas if he came home, she also knew he had the resources to stay hidden indefinitely.
Alexis suggested they’d just have to wait for Nikolas to come around.
As for Cyrus’ release, Laura was conflicted since she believed in rehabilitation, but she wasn’t sure that was possible for her brother or if he even deserved it.
Once Esme interrupted with a reminder about an imminent video conference, Laura took that as her cue to leave.
Alexis asked if Laura knew Judge Albert Kim (Kurt Yue) as she headed out, but Laura admitted she didn’t.
Esme also stole a moment alone with Alexis and asked if she could have a raise.
After Esme acted like the apartment was cramped now that Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) were back, Alexis suspected there was more to the story.
When Alexis pushed for the real reason Esme wanted to move out, Esme confessed that she was starting to have feelings for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez).
At the gallery, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) talked to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) over the phone and said she was covering the morning shift for Ava Jerome (Maura West).
Trina got updates on Josslyn’s study session with Adam (Joshua Benard) and asked Joss to watch out for her art book that’d be dropped off later.
Once Trina heard a customer coming and disconnected, she was horrified to see Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Cyrus acted like he wanted to buy art from Ava and that it was just fortuitous running into Trina, but she didn’t believe he did anything accidentally.
Trina flew into a rage over Cyrus holding her hostage along with her mom.
If it hadn’t been for Laura trading herself, Cyrus could’ve taken out both Trina and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
Cyrus apologized and acted like he wanted to make amends, but Trina wasn’t buying it and refused to forgive him.
Spencer also got involved in the confrontation once he arrived. Cyrus urged Spencer to call him “Uncle” and played up how he’d helped protect him behind bars.
When Cyrus saw Trina’s turtledove, he said it warmed his heart to know Spencer gave the gift he’d provided.
Trina snatched her turtledove up to keep it away from Cyrus and threatened to call the cops if he ever came near her or Portia again.
Although Cyrus offered to help Trina if she ever needed it, Trina made it clear that she wouldn’t.
After Trina angrily ordered Cyrus to get out, she accepted Spencer’s comforting embrace and made him promise not to tell anyone how she lost her cool.
In Josslyn’s dorm room, Adam got rather flirty as he admired Josslyn’s notetaking strategy and put her organic chemistry knowledge to the test.
Adam hinted about having rather overbearing parents and was amazed over Josslyn’s more supportive mom and dad.
Just as Josslyn and Adam were about to take a break, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) arrived to whisk Joss off for some fun.
Adam seemed disappointed as he packed up his stuff and offered to wait for Trina’s book, but Joss insisted that wasn’t necessary.
As Josslyn and Dex left the dorm together, jealous Adam watched them and looked bummed.
In Vermont, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) shared some close moments with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) at the cabin and in the woods on their maple tree tapping adventure.
At the hospital, Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) demanded more drugs from TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and pushed for another doctor when TJ refused.
TJ insisted the response would be the same no matter what doctor Mason got, so Mason complained about his whining and said TJ “never shut up down there either.”
It suddenly clicked for TJ that Mason was one of the kidnappers who held him hostage, so he vowed to make him pay for it and took off.
Once TJ filled Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) in and confirmed he was certain of Mason’s guilt, she argued that Mason wouldn’t be prosecuted.
There wasn’t evidence to back up TJ’s story – not to mention TJ’s version of events couldn’t be trusted since he was blindfolded and disoriented. TJ fumed since he wanted justice and stormed out.
Back in Mason’s room, he informed Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) that he planned to sell him out to the cops.
Mason was going to act like he was just the dumb henchman taking kidnapping orders from his fancy doctor cousin.
Austin argued that claiming he was in on Ava’s abduction wouldn’t help Mason avoid punishment.
Even so, Mason didn’t care and wanted to take Austin down for being a “pain in the ass” for years.
Austin eventually decided it was time to help himself, so he shut the blinds and turned off Mason’s monitors.
As Austin grabbed a pillow, Mason smirked and acted like his cousin didn’t have the guts.
When TJ arrived and approached the window, he peered in through the shut blinds and could see that Austin was in the process of smothering Mason.
General Hospital spoilers say Mason’s life hangs in the balance, so stay tuned to see the shocking moments ahead.
