General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could have a reason to bond again. Ever since Drew returned to Port Charles, many GH fans have been expecting a “Dream” reboot – and the first signs of it happening could be coming soon.
Drew was understandably upset with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for lying to him about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) DNA results.
Carly made matters worse by sabotaging Drew’s whole investigation, so she really went to extremes for her deception.
Drew pointed out that he wasn’t looking for a relationship full of lies and manipulation. That’s not the kind of foundation you can build real love on.
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) doesn’t think Carly should give up since Drew’s a forgiving guy, which is true.
However, that doesn’t mean Carly and Drew’s reunion attempt will work out.
Even if Drew gives Carly another chance, the trust between them may be broken beyond repair.
Drew may eventually find himself opening up to Sam, who’ll be dealing with some similar relationship issues.
Of course, the situation isn’t exactly the same with Dante since he’s not actively setting Sam up to fail.
Dante isn’t as manipulative as Carly, but he’s still keeping secrets that could cost him big time.
There’s something in Dante’s past with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) that he doesn’t want Sam or anyone else to know.
Dante would rather just bury the mistake, which apparently involves Cody taking the blame for something criminal that Dante was involved in.
It seems odd for Dante to be so cagey when this was something that went down in their youth.
Dante and Cody were just dumb kids, so why doesn’t Dante just come clean and help Sam understand what happened?
Dante hasn’t been willing to trust Sam with the truth, so that’s going to be a problem for her once it comes out anyway.
This could give Drew and Sam a reason to bond over partners who keep secrets from them.
Sam and Drew were a popular couple back when Billy Miller was on the show, but viewers have never had a real chance to see what this romance would be like with Cameron Mathison in the role.
Maybe it’ll be time to change that in the coming months.
Now that some couple shakeups are underway, it might be good news for GH fans hoping for a new “Dream” beginning.
