General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, January 17 Recap – Lucy’s Paris Captivity Confirmed - Ryan Left Out of Family Escape Plot

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 17, reveals that a French boy named Antoine (Gabriel Sky) showed up at Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) hotel suite in Paris. Valentin was with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) as they got updates from Antoine, who was the son of guard who worked for Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Antoine pointed out that the woman being held usually said things like “ciao” or “ta,” but she also recently tried to fight back with a tray.

Valentin paid Antoine for the info and his silence before turning his attention back to Anna.

Since that obviously sounded like Lucy, Anna and Valentin were convinced she was in Victor’s stronghold as expected.

Anna suggested entering through the catacombs before realizing they weren’t accessible, but Valentin thought there might be an unofficial secret passageway – and he knew someone who could help.

At GH, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was alarmed when Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) revealed she didn’t want to induce labor early since premature babies could have lifelong health problems.

Michael felt that the risks would be minimal since Willow was eight months along.

Plus, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) warned Willow needed to deliver before her bone marrow transplant – and waiting even longer would pose great risk.

Michael was worried about Willow delaying the delivery at the expense of her life and didn’t want their family to lose her.

Once Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) showed up, they found out Willow was stable – though she posed the biggest danger to herself right now.

While Sasha went to check on Willow, Chase talked to Michael and learned Nina was Willow’s biological mother.

There were concerns about how far Willow would go to prove she wasn’t like Nina.

Back with Sasha, she visited Willow and understood her desire to put her baby’s health first.

Sasha also found out Willow had learned who her birth mother was and might have a bone marrow donor.

Although Sasha assumed that was good news, Willow revealed that Nina was her mom and acted like it was the worst thing ever.

Sasha feared Willow was thinking of refusing the transplant if Nina was a match, but Willow confirmed that she’d accept her best shot at survival.

That said, Willow was trying to give her baby the same thing.

Since Sasha pretended to be Nina’s daughter when she first came to town, she suggested that almost made her Willow’s sister and shared a laugh with her before Michael returned.

Willow ultimately assured Michael that she’d go through with the early delivery, but she felt that it didn’t matter if Nina wasn’t a bone marrow match.

At Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse, he found Nina on the phone freaking out over what was taking so long on the preliminary results from her cheek swap.

Sonny calmed Nina down, but she hadn’t slept much and dwelled on the fact that Willow hated her.

Nina was beyond mad at Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for keeping quiet about another daughter, which Sonny totally understood.

Nina feared that she’d pushed too hard with Willow, but she wouldn’t have done that if she’d known the truth.

Sonny offered a pep talk and felt there was still hope for Nina to build a relationship with Willow.

Although Nina feared for Willow’s life, Sonny was a strong source of support.

After Nina got a phone call that confirmed she was a potential donor match, she was overjoyed and ready for the next blood test step.

Next, Victor arrived to see Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) ahead of her hospital discharge, so Esme convinced the officer guarding her to let her talk to him.

Esme was confused when he introduced himself as “Uncle Victor,” but he clarified that he was related to the Cassadine heir she was carrying.

Although Esme wasn’t sure she wanted to remember her former self, Victor acted like she shouldn’t worry about her conscience or what other people thought of her.

Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) eventually interrupted since Esme’s arraignment was imminent.

In a moment alone with Victor, Martin suggested he might be able to focus on the case more if Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) was safe.

Since Martin was so worried, he smugly hinted that he might not be able to defend Esme to the best of his abilities.

Martin warned that if he couldn’t give Esme the best defense, the baby might be born behind bars at Pentonville.

After Martin warned that sooner or later everyone’s luck runs out, Victor called to check on the Lucy hostage situation and beefed up security because of Valentin as well as Anna.

At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) visited Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) room and locked the door behind her.

Ryan backed Heather against the wall, so the mood was a combination of frisky and intimidating.

Once Ryan complained about Esme being in custody and Heather not hooking anyone else yet, Heather explained that she no longer had easy access in and out.

It turns out Heather’s security guard ally was canned for stealing.

Ryan wondered how Esme was supposed to help him reunite with Ava Jerome (Maura West) if she was locked up, but Heather didn’t care about Ava and was doing all this for her daughter as well as her grandchild.

Heather vowed to finally kill Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and clear Esme’s name before they went on the run together, so Ryan asked what about him.

After Heather halfheartedly suggested Ryan could come if he wanted, she pointed out that it was happening today.

Heather had a shiv and planned to take a guard hostage as part of her escape plot, but Ryan felt she needed a better plan than this haphazard one.

Since Heather was determined, she told Ryan she’d send him a postcard and took off.

Soon after, Heather appeared around the corner elsewhere as Esme walked by with the guard assigned to her.

That left Heather closer than ever to a reunion with her daughter!

General Hospital spoilers say Heather has more tricks up her sleeve, so stay tuned.
