The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Camila Banus recently revealed her decision to step away from the role of Gabi Hernandez on Days of Our Lives and explore new opportunities. In an interview with The Wrap, Banus confirmed her DOOL departure and shared the reasons for her exit.
It turns out there were some key factors that led to Banus leaving Days behind.
Banus mostly just wanted to do something different, but the show was unwilling to negotiate more time off and caused her to walk away.
However, Banus’ choice to depart Days of Our Lives could mean good news for B&B – that is if they’re willing to see her star power and snatch her up!
The Bold and the Beautiful might be the perfect soap for Banus since they often feature characters for a while and then put them on the backburner once the story’s over.
There would surely be a more flexible schedule for Banus at B&B.
As for who Banus might play, how about a love interest for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson)?
It’d be nice for Thomas to finally break free from all the Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) drama and focus on someone else.
Back in 2005, Thomas was briefly married to a woman named Gabriela “Gaby” Moreno (last played by Shanelle Workman) when she was faced with the threat of deportation.
The marriage was ultimately annulled, but Thomas cared about Gaby once upon a time.
It might be interesting if Banus played a Gaby recast who came back on the scene and reconnected with Thomas after all these years.
Of course, Banus could always play a brand-new character who catches Thomas’ eye.
Since Banus is gorgeous and talented, we have no doubt that she’d have plenty of onscreen chemistry with Matthew Atkinson’s Thomas.
Many viewers have complained about Thomas not getting a proper love interest.
Hope doesn’t count since she’s Thomas’ former obsession, so “Thope” just seems like a sinking ship that can’t work at this point.
Would you like to see Camila Banus join Bold and become Thomas’ new leading lady?
Banus is fantastic at playing characters who are real firecrackers, so she could easily portray some feisty woman who captures Thomas’ heart.
