The Young and the Restless Recap: Wednesday, December 13 – Victoria Arrives as Nikki’s Drinking - Michael Takes Sides

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 13, reveals that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will head to Newman Media, where Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will ask questions about Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) since she hasn’t been able to reach her.

Nikki will snap that she doesn’t want to discuss Claire, but she’ll ultimately apologize for lashing out and insist Claire is a psychopath who helped Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) lure the Newman family to Oregon for a fatal plot.

Audra will reel over that news and wonder if Nikki wants to take some time off, but Nikki will think she needs the distraction of work right now.

As Audra explains everything Nikki missed at the company, Nikki will zone out and think back to bad lake house memories.

Audra will eventually suggest catching Nikki up over lunch, but Nikki will opt to stay in her office alone and will ask Audra to pick her up a salad.

Once Nikki’s alone, she’ll guzzle vodka from a flask.

Audra will come back sooner than Nikki expected, so she’ll scramble to hide the flask and will use a mint to cover up any booze on her breath.

After Audra hands over the salad, Nikki will decide she’s too tired for a full day and will leave Audra to hold down the fort alone.

At Crimson Lights, Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will go over the details of Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) new job, so Nate will be eager to dive in and will once again thank Devon for giving him another chance.

There’ll be some awkwardness when Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) appears and looks over at Nate, who’ll greet her tersely on his way out.

As for Victoria, she’ll get confirmation from Devon that Nate is back at Chancellor-Winters.

Victoria will also defend Nate and offer a different perspective from her family in the aftermath of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) fake illness saga.

Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) will formally meet Devon before joining Victoria on the patio.

That’s where Cole will talk about retrieving Claire’s toothbrush, hairbrush and some other items from the lake house for a DNA test.

Cole and Victoria will discuss how their own samples will be compared with Claire so they can find out the truth. Whether Claire is their daughter or not, Victoria and Cole will feel compelled to help her.

When Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) arrives, he’ll admit he can understand why Cole and Victoria are so conflicted about Claire.

Michael will think what’s left of Claire’s damaged psyche will be crushed if she goes to prison instead of receiving the psychiatric care she needs.

There’ll also be some talk about the DNA test that’s happening, so Michael will suggest that the outcome could affect whether Cole and Victoria still want to help Claire.

Victoria and Cole will be adamant that Claire deserves an attorney who can fight for her and hopefully get her the necessary treatment.

The defense strategy will be to put all the blame on Jordan for grooming Claire and turning her into a monster against the Newmans.

Michael will think anyone who’d hurt a child like that needs to pay in this life and the next.

At Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) penthouse, he’ll answer the door in his robe and let Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) inside since she’ll have some coffee for him.

Heather will thank Daniel for all his help now that she’s all set to move in her new place.

Daniel will mention that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is out of town and will offer updates on the horrible situation Mattie Ashby’s (Lexie Stevenson) is dealing with.

In a tender moment, Daniel will express gratitude for Heather’s forgiveness and her willingness to move past his mistakes.

Heather will assure Daniel that he’s a better version of himself as they touch hands.

At Society, Devon will still have some lingering concerns about hiring Nate, so he’ll open up to Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) about them.

Once Heather invites Daniel to lunch, they’ll greet Abby and Devon as they arrive.

Heather will play up her new job at Chancellor-Winters and thank Daniel for giving her the right reasons to come home with Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant).

While Daniel and Heather are dining, Abby will glare at them and seem worried about how close the exes look.

It’ll leave Abby wondering when Lily’s coming home, but Devon will admit it may not be soon since she’s helping Mattie and will join Charlie Ashby for family time, too.

Meanwhile, Heather will chat with Daniel about joining the legal team at Chancellor-Winters and hope she can start right away now that everything has been finalized.

Daniel will be surprised when Heather admits she’s been playing Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) game and really enjoys it. That’ll be high praise coming from Heather, so Daniel will be grateful.

Once Lily calls, Daniel will excuse himself from the table to answer it and will leave Heather looking pensive.

Back at the ranch, Nikki will make sure no one’s around before heading to the bar area.

After Nikki pulls out her flask to refill it, she’ll decide to gulp vodka straight from the bottle.

Victoria will arrive at that exact moment and call out for her mom, so Nikki will look panicked like she’s afraid of getting busted.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki’s drinking will become more and more of a problem, so stay tuned!
