In tonight’s Chicago P.D. episode, Intelligence caught a Robbery/Homicide. Their robbery came with a body. The body was of Marcella. She was the cleaning lady at the house.

She recently realized she left something behind at the house. She called her bosses. They told her it would be okay if she used her key to pick up her things.

She just wanted an umbrella. She got killed because of an umbrella. She surprised the thieves. They shot her point black in the head in retaliation. They might have been wearing masks when they robbed the place. It wouldn’t explain why they felt they had to kill Marcella. They also finished robbing the house without any cameras picking them up.

The homeowner found Marcella’s body. She came by during a lunch break to check on the new puppy. After she saw the body, she called for the cops. She also got an ambulance because she was dealing with shock. The puppy was dropped off at the neighbors until the husband came home.

The whole crime scene was messy. They didn’t think they’d get any good leads and that’s when Geroge Tyson III called Detective Atwater. He claimed that he knew who robbed that house. He said he knew the fence they used. And he could help.

George goes by the nickname Butchie. He was once a good criminal informant. Then he became unreliable. He didn’t want to do the work. He just wanted to be paid. It’s why he showed up late most of the time. It was never about the greater good with him. Well, Butchie hasn’t changed since Atwater last spoke to him.

Butchie was still focusing on getting paid. He gave up the fence’s name. He thought that would be it and Atwater informed him that no. Butchie has to make an introduction to this fence.

Atwater pretended like he had product. He approached the man with Butchie. It was a problem because the fence doesn’t trust or like Butchie. He openly calls him the village idiot.

He also refused to fence Atwater’s pieces if it didn’t have authentication papers with it. Butchie tried to force him into a deal. Atwater stepped between them. Atwater said the code word. His people come in bursting down the door. They arrested the fence. Butchie said he did good. He was going to get paid for it only he almost got killed for it.

The fence could have easily killed him, Butchie never mentioned that he questioned the fence about who was selling to him. He thought he would get paid more if he had names and so the fence knew to be suspicious of him. Part of the reason why he wasn’t going to make a deal with him. Or Atwater.

They still got the fence to flip. They told him that he was connected to a homicide. He needed to give up information or else he takes the fall for what happened. The guy ended up giving a name because of those threats to pin the murder on him.

Mark Young was the intermediary. He’s the one that takes the stolen goods to the fence. The fence didn’t think he had anything to do with the robberies themselves. Mark was young. He was eager to prove himself. He probably thought helping to provide the items to the fence would earn him street cred.

He was so desperate to work with the crew doing the robberies that he has been buying them drinks for weeks. They had someone sit on Young’s house. There were others that sat on Young’s favorite bar.

Do you know who they ran into at the bar? Butchie. Butchie was asking about Young. He claimed not know Young when Atwater asked him about it and it turns out he lied. He didn’t get involved in this case because of the money. He did that because the same men, that the police are looking for, had killed his cousin.

He wants justice for his cousin. His version of justice doesn’t come with a life sentence in prison. Butchie was out for revenge. It’s why he questioned the fence to the point the guy got angry at him.

Butchie has to find these people. His cousin started running with them. Butchie said that Marcus was a good guy and so he forced Marcus to choose between family and friends. He chose his friends. They rob a house. They got away with the vehicle when Marcus crashed into a wall after a police chase.

His supposed friends abandoned him. Butchie went to the police because he wanted to know these men’s names. They left his cousin to die in the car crash. Butchie wants to kill them and Atwater was going to deny him that. He said they do everything by the book. And if he catches Butchie trying to identify these men, Atwater was going to arrest him.

They kept looking into their new suspect when Atwater ran into some problems. Remember Dr. Westbrooke. The man that died on Atwater’s watch. Westbrooke’s widow even blamed him for her husband’s death. There were two men that were injured. Atwater went to the other guy.

The doctor died in the meantime. Now, Atwater was overly involving himself in the Westbrooke family. He leaves groceries on their doorstep. He bought the victim’s headstone. He even stopped Westbrooke’s son from getting expelled.

Mrs. Westbrooke put everything together when she saw him at the school. She went to his office. She brought with her some money and she tried to give it to Atwater.

She wanted to pay for the things he did for her. She doesn’t want his pity or his charity. She just wants him to leave her family alone. She was threatening a restraining order if he didn’t stop trying to help. Atwater returned to working the case. They figured who the other men in the heist crew were. Atwater was going to arrest one man when Butchie showed up with a gun.

Butchie ended up killing the guy. He was going down for murder. Atwater had to arrest him. Atwater might also face questions from Internal Affairs because he gave Butchie Young’s name. He even showed him a photo of Young. Butchie hadn’t killed Young only he did kill someone right in front of Atwater.

THE END!
