In tonight’s Fire Country episode, a red flag warning came in. The season has been unreasonably dry. It was perfect for wild fires and Manny was the Battalion Chief that likes due diligence. He had everyone stay at the station for pre-deployment. He even had people from nearby firehouses staying there as well.
He was ready for when the call came in and was surprised when it didn’t. The fires started in the county over. It began in Drake County. It was up to Drake County’s firefighters to call for additional aide and they didn’t want to call. They thought they could handle everything on their own. It was pride talking and pride often goes before the fall.
They got a campfire that turned into a brush fire. It was being reported as small. Manny suspected it was going to be something more. He brought 42 to the scene.
They saw that the fire was not small and they offered to help. This same offer was turned down by Drake County’s Battalion Chief. He claimed that they didn’t need Edgewater’s help. Not after Edgewater let the Zabel Ridge Fires get out of control. It wasn’t a fair thing to say. It was arson at the time and they saved more lives than they lost.
Bode had to tell the Drake County guy to keep Edgewater out of his mouth. Yet, Bode knew a little something about that arson. He had his mother pass on the information to ATF. ATF opened an investigation into Landon. They have to take it slow in case they spook him. Landon of course denied having anything to do with it only he was a dangerous man.
Sharon had to tell Chloe about the investigation. Chloe considered going back to their house to pick up more stuff and officially end her relationship with Landon. And Sharon warned her that it would be too dangerous right now.
Landon was going to be angry. He’s proven he’s volatile. Sharon didn’t want Chloe getting hurt. Their conversation was overheard by Tyler and Tyler confronted Bode.
It was right before they had to roll out. Bode promised to keep an eye on Tyler when he got back. He didn’t count on Tyler stowing away in the back of a truck. He came to the fire. Bode wanted him out of the way. He wanted him safe. He had him monitoring the radio activity. He had to stay in the car for that one. Bode also called his mom to report that Tyler snuck onto the scene.
Sharon then told Chloe. She had another warning as well. Landon had stopped by the firehouse. He was demanding that Chloe and Tyler return to his home or it was going to get ugly.
Well, he didn’t scare Sharon. Sharon refused to say where they were. She had Chloe stay at the firehouse while she went to go pick up Tyler from the scene. Sharon had a feeling why Landon may have started the Zabel Ridge Fire. Chloe’s house burned down during that fire. There’s a chance that was Landon’s plan all along. Force her to rely on him then get rid of Tyler.
Landon has been telling Tyler to get out. No one will miss him if he disappears one day. Landon wanted to isolate Chloe and it wasn’t helped by the good person act he put on. Chloe has already informed work that Landon shouldn’t be allowed around the students or onto campus. She now just waits on word that Landon has been detained.
Something that couldn’t happen until ATF spoke to Tyler. Bode tried to get Tyler to leave with Sharon. He told him that it would keep him and his mom safe.
It’s just that Landon did a lot of work on him. He messed with that kid’s head. Tyler doesn’t think anything he does will be good enough and he doesn’t want try. He’s too afraid of Landon.
Tyler was still at the scene when Manny’s plan didn’t work out. Manny kept butting heads with Chief Springer. Manny was pushed into being IC. He took over the scene. He enacted his own plan. When that plan failed, he moved to Plan B. Springer didn’t agree with any of his plans. Only Manny was a man of his word. He wasn’t going to leave Drake County to burn.
Jake ran into his half-brother. He apologized for knowing the truth for three years without doing anything. It turned out Malcom had needed a brother three years ago. He was about to fluke out. His mother almost lost the house. Malcolm was angry that he had this older brother that he never knew about.
And Jake allowed him to be angry because there was nothing he could do to fix it. They were coming down from the mountain when their fire truck flipped over with a third person inside. There’s no telling the state of them.
Tyler also left the car. He heard people needed batteries and he went running into a fire without gear. Bode found him. He grabbed a fire blanket and it should keep them safe until the fire dies down.
And the fire was now heading to Edgewater like Manny always knew it would. The question will be if Three Rock is ready or not.
THE END!
