General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) may be arrested for treason, so her Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) revenge plot could backfire. Will Carly ultimately regret deceiving Brennan and scheming to destroy him?
Instead of confronting Brennan right off the bat, Carly took a very different approach when she got updates on Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) WSB status.
Many GH viewers expected Carly to rip into Brennan immediately, but she chose a long-game payback plan.
Now Carly is going to great lengths to trick Brennan into thinking their relationship is moving forward.
Carly also made Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) a team player without Brennan’s knowledge, so she’s really pulling out all the stops for vengeance.
However, Carly is putting a lot on the line when it comes to this setup.
Valentin has warned Carly about the risks, but Carly is committed to this vengeful path and is willing to take whatever gamble she needs to take.
In an interview with SOD, Chris McKenna talked about the complicated mess that’s developed between the characters.
Although Carly was right in feeling betrayed by Brennan, McKenna pointed out that Carly is just as culpable at this point.
“But now, she’s committing treason!” McKenna insisted. “I mean, he lied, but she’s committing acts against the nation! So I think that now, Jack at least has an argument from this angle, which is, ‘I did something bad, but not treason!’”
McKenna added that Carly is “swimming in deep waters” when it comes to this whole situation with Brennan.
Considering McKenna’s comments, could Carly be held accountable for the treason she’s committing?
S. Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) just learned the hard way what happens when you get on Brennan’s bad side.
Carly could learn that too once Brennan realized he’s been duped and most likely retaliates.
There’s a chance Carly will get arrested eventually and regret getting so obsessed with revenge.
Of course, Carly could wiggle out of treason trouble in the end, but it’s easy to imagine this plot not turning out as well as she might’ve hoped.
General Hospital spoilers say Carly will continue to deceive Brennan for now, so that could lead to alarming news when all this blows up down the road.
