Melody Thomas Scott, known for her role as Nikki Reed Newman on The Young and the Restless (Y&R), will get her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some fans might think it’s about time that happened. But, it finally did, so read on for more details.
The Announcement
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce delivered the news about the Y&R star’s nomination. It’s confirmed, and she will get it next year. It’s been a long time coming because she has a spectacular career behind her, with her 1964 debut in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Plus, she and her husband Edward won a Lifetime Achievement Award for their work on Y&R.
Later, she moved to TV, and fans saw her in Wagon Train. Scott then made appearances on Ironside, Secrets, Code R, Fish, The Waltons, Charlie’s Angels, Makin’ It, Billy, and The Rockford Files. She became part of Y&R in 1979.

The Journey Of Nikki
Melody Thomas Scott’s character, Nikki Reed Newman is a central figure on the show. Her complex history began in 1978 when she arrived in Genoa City with a sexually transmitted disease from an affair with Paul Williams. She then worked as a stripper, where she met and had a daughter, Victoria Newman, with Victor Newman.
Nikki’s storyline is overloaded with relationships, most notably her cornerstone marriage to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). However, she also had marriages with Jack Abbott, Greg Foster, and Kevin Bancroft, among others. Out of that tumultuous time, she at least seemed to learn from resilience.
Nikki faced addiction, loss, betrayal, and intricate family dynamics, especially with her children and her ongoing saga with Victor. Notably, her actress never had that type of life. In fact, in the book Always Young and Restless: My life on and off America’s #1 Daytime Drama, Melody specifically said that she was nothing like Nikki.
The Real Life Personality
That doesn’t mean that she enjoyed life from the get-go, as the book also talked about how she was raised by a grandmother who seemed to be ruthless and rather cruel.
So far, on Instagram, Melody hasn’t mentioned her Walk of Fame star. But then, she hasn’t been all that active this year. Her most recent post arrived on March 21 this year and it isn’t about herself.
Instead, she shared about the death of Wings Hauser. “We loved working together,” she explained. “He played Nikki’s first husband, Greg Foster. We would walk over to Farmer’s Market together every morning to have breakfast at Dupar’s.”
