The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that it’ll take more than one conversation for Devon Winters (Bryton James) to have a change of heart about Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).
Despite Devon’s visit and Mariah’s apology in the May 19 episode, there’s no guarantee Devon will be able to forgive Mariah despite his best efforts.
Mariah wants Devon to concentrate on forgiving himself instead, but it’s a shame to see their friendship so broken.
Devon may always carry some pain and resentment toward Mariah unless she can somehow redeem herself in his eyes.
Of course, Mariah is currently at a psychiatric facility, so all she can do right now is try to get better.
However, there’ll come a point when Mariah will ultimately be released and considered rehabilitated.
Once Mariah is back on the streets, that may reignite Devon’s anger and make repairing their bond difficult.
That said, we can think of a way for Mariah to fix her relationship with Devon and perhaps remind him of the good he once saw in her.
Devon can’t stop thinking about Mariah kidnapping Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) and all the fear that brought, but what if she’s the hero of Dom’s next storyline?
Maybe Y&R will let Mariah step up and save Dominic’s life down the road.
After Mariah is discharged from her mental health facility, Devon may start grumbling about how it’s too soon and maintain that she belongs in prison.
In the end, Devon might be grateful that Mariah is a free woman if she saves Dominic somehow.
We could certainly imagine some scenario where Mariah is in the right place at the right time and perhaps grabs Dominic before he can be hit by a speeding car.
On the other hand, if Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) goes back off the rails after his memories return, Mariah might intervene somehow and save Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) grandson from becoming part of the chaos.
Regardless, Mariah could get a redemption story if she saves Dominic from a dangerous situation following her psychiatric facility release.
It might be exactly what Devon needs to see Mariah as a true friend again.
