Paul Walker and Roger Rodas Crash Death Caused By Porsche Car Malfunction: Evidence Emerges

We’re starting to learn bits and pieces of the circumstances that prompted Paul Walker to get into the passenger seat of that Porsche Carrera GT on Saturday and it wasn’t just a simple joyride after all. The actor was attending a fundraiser at Always Evolving, a high end custom car shop that he also owned a portion of and the day’s festivities were wrapping up. Paul was on hand to help raise money for the typhoon victims in the Philippines and had been in a fantastic mood by all accounts.

According to TMZ, the cherry red Porsche seemed to be having problems and an auto shop worker struggled with it stalling as he tried to back it into the shop. Paul’s good pal, Roger Rodas, the shop’s CEO decided to hop in to try and figure out what was wrong with the car. Rather than back it into the garage, Paul hopped into the passenger side as the two men decided to take the car out for a ride, something commonly done when trying to diagnose a vehicle problem. The first thing that a pro does is listen to how the car sounds.

The Porsche actually made a 20 minute drive before crashing just 500 feet from the custom shop. They have already said that speed likely played a factor but the skid marks left on the pavement may also provide a very important piece to this puzzle. Witnesses said that fluid was leaking from the car and those skid marks are in a straight line. If Rodas had tried to swerve the marks would have curved and shown a fight to control the vehicle. Instead, early analysis seems to point to the strong possibility of the car malfunctioning in a way that prevented Rodas from being able to steer at all. Also, fire spreading so quickly through the front of the car does support the theory of some kind of leak that ultimately caused the vehicle to malfunction.

Wouldn’t an experienced driver that participated in 8 professional races this year alone have at least attempted to swerve if he could have? Do you think Rodas lost the ability to steer or for a few seconds did the men know that they were doomed? Did his daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, have to watch this tragedy unfold?
