Ian Somerhalder Jealous Of Nina Dobrev's Movie Career - Bitter Ex-Boyfriend Hoping To Land Movie Roles After The Vampire Diaries

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have definitely been the most successful The Vampire Diaries actors, even though the show hasn’t ended yet. However, there’s a big difference in the prospective movie careers between Ian and Nina, with Nina’s looking infinitely more prosperous and successful. For one thing, she’s much younger than Ian, and for another, she’s got more range. But that also means that when the inevitable end of The Vampire Diaries comes, Ian will be forced into the no-man’s land of TV obscurity, and Nina will slowly start expanding her resume to include franchise roles and the token superhero flick. That pretty much means the end of an Ian Somerhalder/Nina Dobrev relationship, even if they were ever to get back together.

But alas, Ian is currently dating Nikki Reed, and Nina is dating… well, whoever she’s dating. But obviously, everyone on this set is involved in some ridiculous mult-angle relationship with each other, and it’s only mildly incestuous. And with that being said, we’re hearing that Ian Somerhalder is actually jealous of Nina Dobrev’s career, believe it or not.

Apparently, Ian thinks that he should be getting just as much attention as her, especially since he’s one of the reasons the show became such a big hit. And while that may be true, I think he’s being a little delusional about the cynical nature of Hollywood these days. Ian’s Anomaly flopped pretty badly, and unless he somehow manages to land an elusive superhero or franchise role, he’s going to be put out to pasture until he gets another steady TV gig. Nina, meanwhile, will have no trouble finding steady film work, if for no other reason than she’s young and gorgeous. So of course, in the minds of TVD fans, this is just another iron in the cog stopping Ian and Nina from getting back together. The reality? Much more sobering, let me tell you.
