Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have been dating for a few months, and all the rumors have them engaged and getting married by the end of the year. Now, we can’t that will happen with certainty, but we can certainly question what that relationship has been doing to the precarious on-set environment on The Vampire Diaries.
Ian may have broken up with Nina Dobrev eons ago in Hollywood years, but every source we’ve spoken to says that things are still incredibly awkward between them. They’ve been trying their best to keep things professional, but that was before Ian started playing tonsil hockey with Nikki every chance he got. And no matter how ‘professional’ Nina Dobrev is, there is no way she’s able to look upon her ex-boyfriend with his new girlfriend every week and be completely cool with it.
If anything, our sources are also adding that Nina’s enjoyment of working on the series has swiftly come to an end. For one thing, it’s Season 6 and she’s tired of working on the same TV show for this long, especially since she has a budding movie career to speak of. And for another, she just really, really doesn’t work on the set with her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend anymore. I wouldn’t blame her for trying to get the producers to ban Nikki Reed from visiting as much, ostensibly for her own ‘concentration’. But will they listen? And will Nina just put up with it until the end of this season, and then leave once her contract is up, or will she quit Vampire Diaries now? This could depend, of course, on her contract wrapping up by the end of this year.
