Are Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough dating again – well sources say they hooked up recently and the sparks were flying. Nina Dobrev was once torn between her romance with Derek Hough and her relationship with Ian Somerhalder, but my, how times have changed. It’s been a year since Nina broke up with Derek and even longer since she broke up with Ian, but the tables have turned rather drastically. Fans have assumed that Ian waited all those months for a chance to win Nina back, but right now, he’s the one in a happy relationship with Nikki Reed and Nina’s the one who’s been left by the wayside. However, if recent reports turn out to be true, that won’t be the status quo for long.
According to Hollywood Life, Nina and Derek caught up for a little reunion at the Roosevelt Hotel in LA on September 17th. Eyewitnesses present at the hotel tell the blog, “They were talking close and holding each other and she was laughing at everything he said, she was enamored and definitely was equally flirting with him and he was really trying to impress her.”
There was dancing, drinking, flirting, and a lot of touching. There may even have been more, but of course, eyewitnesses were not present in their hotel room to corroborate that fact.
The timing of all this seems too sudden to be a coincidence. Ian and Nikki start playing up their relationship, engaging in excessive PDA, and leaking engagement rumors, and suddenly, Nina’s back with her ex-boyfriend. It’s possible she’s doing this to get back at Ian, even if it’s just a tabloid report that has no basis in truth. Hey, that’s what publicists are for, right? What, you think tabloids get their ‘sources’ out of thin air? Sometimes, yes, but most of the time – no. In situations like this, Nina’s ego is bound to be bruised, and if flirting [fake flirting or otherwise] with her ex-boyfriend gives her equal footing, then good for her.
