Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, remains in critical condition on life support after being found not breathing with no heartbeat face-down in a tubful of water on Saturday at her Georgia home. When Bobbi Kristina Gordon’s husband, Nick Gordon, and friend, Max Lomas, found her lifeless body, they immediately called 911 and performed CPR. Bobbi Kristina was taken to North Fulton Hospital and placed on a ventilator to help her breathe. Bobbi has since been transported to another medical facility in Atlanta. While doctors have seen slight signs of improvement in the form of more brain activity, it’s still a very serious situation with evanescent prospects for recovery.
Bobbi’s incident is reminiscent of her mother’s death back in February of 2012. Whitney was found at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California, after accidentally drowning in her bathtub. Cocaine use and heart disease were also listed as contributing factors on the death certificate. The similarities between the two episodes have led many to conclude that Bobbi’s tragedy may be the result of a suicide attempt. If that’s true, the question becomes: Could this have been prevented?
Bobbi’s husband Nick Gordon was arrested for a DUI after a car crash in August of 2014. Gordon has also tweeted some questionable pictures in the past, including one of himself showing off a gun which led to Pat Houston taking out a restraining order against the criminal. The friend, Max Lomas, that helped revive Bobbi has had troubles of his own. According to Radar Online, Lomas was arrested just this past January. He was charged with three felonies including possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute as well as possession of Xanax and a firearm. Lomas spent four days in jail before posting bond on January 19. He even attended a preliminary hearing regarding the case the day before Bobbi was found unresponsive in her bathtub.
With friends and relatives of such questionable character around her, including alleged drug dealers, Bobbi’s incident shouldn’t come as a surprise. Gordon and Lomas were involved in a bloody fight back in 2011 where guns were reportedly present. Bobbi was with them at the time. When you take a young, impressionable girl and surround her with negative influences, it can create a ticking time bomb. The devastating loss of her mother likely only made matters worse. It appears the upcoming anniversary of Whitney’s death may have been too much for her to bear.
