General Hospital Spoilers: Billy Miller Not Leaving GH For Primetime - FOX Cancels Urban Cowboy - Jason Stays in GC!

‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers had fans in a frenzy over the summer when it was revealed that Billy Miller had joined the cast of the FOX primetime show ‘Urban Cowboy.’ It’s no secret that Billy Miller’s ultimate endgame is primetime, that was actually his original reason for leaving ‘The Young And The Restless’ – before ‘GH’ picked him up.

But, according to a new report ‘Urban Cowboy’ has been cancelled before it ever got to see the light of day – so it looks like Billy Miller will be staying in Port Charles as Jason Morgan … for now.

The ‘Urban Cowboy’ reboot of the 1980 John Travolta film has been filming the pilot in Texas over the course of the last few months. Billy Miller was playing the part of “Bobby,” it’s unclear exactly how he fit in to the story line.

The tag line for the TV show teased, “two star-crossed young lovers, as they pursue their dreams and passions through the sweat of line-dancing in honky-tonks, the grime of the oil refineries and the glamor of modern Texas. It’s about family legacies, starting over, finding true love and the American dream.”

According to a report from TV Line, the cast and crew finished filming and sent the completed project off to FOX – and they were not impressed, they opted to pull the plug on the series all together. Word on the Internet is that after the network did some polling and got feedback from potential viewers, they knew it was going to be a ratings disaster.

Frankly, it sounds like the show had a little bit TOO much going on. The oil drillers, plus the cartel, plus the rodeo – it all sounds a little over the top.

So ‘General Hospital’ fans, are you happy that FOX pulled the plug on ‘Urban Cowboy’? Do you think that Billy Miller would have quit ‘GH’ if the show did turn out to be a success?
