Here are some “General Hospital” spoilers for the Thursday August 20 episode of the hit ABC soap. The murder trial continues today on GH. Next up in the Silas Clay (Michael Easton) murder trial is Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig). Morgan takes the stand and Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) asks Franco if Morgan’s testimony will be damning. It will, but Scotty can turn it around. Franco can whisper some info about Morgan cheating on Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) to Scotty.
If Scotty’s smart, he can use this information to grill Morgan on the stand and he can very likely make Morgan look unbalanced. We know Morgan is a hot-head plus he’s got some mental mess brewing that Scotty may be able to stir up. Will Morgan’s testimony lead Scotty to call Denise DeMuccio (Maura West)? It can if Scotty cross-examines him cleverly.
Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) is aching to help Franco and is plotting when Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) shows up. Nina confides to her mother that Franco is innocent and that Ava Jerome is alive and was the one who killed Silas. But something that Maddy says sparks an idea in Nina’s slippery mind –
she begins to suspect that it was her mother that killed Silas.
Madeline certainly hates Silas enough to hurt him. Nina will contact her brother Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) to tell him she thinks their mom Maddy may have been involved in Silas’ death. Will Nina tell Nathan why she’s certain that Franco didn’t kill Silas? Will Nina confess that she was there right after Silas died and had the knife in her hand?
Ava, meanwhile, is concerned with another murder – Connie Falconeri’s – and now that Julian Jerome (William deVry) knows that Denise is Ava, he’s the perfect person to help her. Ava tells him about the evidence that’s locked up in rat fink Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) desk and asks him for help to get it back so she can unveil herself to the world as Ava. This will be a race to get it before Ava is exposed.
Related to Julian, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) wants to talk to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) about an important matter – Julian! But first, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny want to talk to Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) about Morgan and their concerns about his behavior. Sonny and Carly also want to know if Michael has changed his mind about coming to their wedding.
Finally, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) wants to talk to TJ Ashford (Tequan Richmond) about his living arrangements with Sonny. Molly is concerned that Sonny is not the best influence on TJ but he thinks his life choices are just fine and reassures Molly. She won’t let up on this – Molly will advocate for him to go back to his mom Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine) but TJ isn’t having it.
Sonny is like a surrogate Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) to him and TJ is not willing to give up on this connection. Will TJ end up getting hurt – like so many have before him – by being loyal to Sonny? The mob violence is increasing and all the kids in Sonny’s life end up having bad things happen to them so why would TJ be an exception?
