General Hospital spoilers and rumors are out that Carlos may be alive and a force behind the rival mobs waging war on Sonny’s underworld control of Port Charles – additionally, there is speculation that Rosalie might well be related to villain. Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) was shot on the Waterfront Docks in May 2015 by Anna Devane but as GH viewers know no one ever stays dead especially if they end up in the water at The Waterfront. Does Jason Morgan’s death ring a bell – he also ended up in the water at the Pier. Anna shot Carlos multiple times and it looked as if he died right before our eyes (we all know no one stays dead in Port Charles). Later Anna (Finola Hughes) and Commish Sloane (Grayson McCouch) rolled Carlos’s body off the dock and into the water.
The character of Carlos Rivera was not just a mob henchman – Carlos worked for both the Jeromes and the Zaccharas and was also an ambassador trying to form an allegiance between the 3 crime families of Port Charles. Carlos worked closely with Julian Jerome (William DeVRry) AKA Derek Wells, whose goal was to bring Sonny down and take over his territory.
Carlos supposedly came to Port Charles in search of his love from Peurto Rico, Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo). Sabrina was dating Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) at the time – If the name Rivera sounds familiar you are correct – Sonny’s deceased wife Lily (Lilly Melgar) was the daughter of Mob boss Hernando Rivera. Hernando hated Sonny with a passion – he planted a bomb on Sonny’s car that ultimately killed his pregnant daughter Lily. At one point Sonny forced Carlos to dig his own grave as Sonny and Mob sidekick Shawn (Sean Blackmore) held a gun on him. While Carlos fought for his life digging he told Sonny “Do not do this to Lilly, I am her brother.” Sonny claimed that he was lying and that Lily was an only child and he said Shawn checked him out and found no relation to the Rivera Mob family. Carlos said that is not true that he was wrong, that his father cheated on Lily’s mother and that he was a dirty little secret.
Sonny then moved Carlos to the Coffee Warehouse where he promised to kill him if he finds out he was lying about his relation to his ex wife. Shawn came back once again saying that Carlos was not related to Lily. Question readers: On what authority did Shawn find out Carlos was not related to Lily – A DNA test? NADA. Carlos said he was the illegitimate child of Hernando and that he was kept hidden from the rest of the family that only Lily knew but never spoke of it to respect her father’s privacy.
CDL also reported Rosalie Martinez could in fact be Lily and Sonny’s child that supposedly blew up in the car explosion which killed her mother. The age and ethnicity is exactly right as a matter of fact Rosalie is a dead ringer for a young Lily Rivera Corinthos. Which would make Carlos her Uncle – I know who cares, Carlos is dead right? What if Carlos is not dead and just like Jason Morgan survived the bullets and the dark deep depths of the Waterfront waters?
Carlos basically worked for 3 Mob families which means he most definitely had powerful connections and has the potential of organizing a criminal cabal to bring the Corinthos Mob down. If Carlos is in fact Hernando Rivera’s son he will be a force to be reckoned with. Fans actually loved this greasy haired unshaven mobster and consensus in the social media world is they would love to have Jeffrey Vincent Parise back as Carlos Rivera – with new writers at the helm and their totally new storylines hitting the screen reportedly in October anything is possible and remember GH’ers, No one stays dead in PC….
