Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are making an attempt to save Ian’s Career. The Vampire Diaries star has given up on TVD as he begins to distance from the CW show. Is it too late for Somerhalder to jump the allegedly sinking ship?
Nina Dobrev was smart enough to begin the separation of her association with the show last year. Perhaps Dobrev’s decision to quit The Vampire Diaries had more to do with Ian Somerhalder and his jealous new wife, Nikki Reed. Nina quit TVD during season 6. It was a good move, but Dobrev is still struggling to pave a career after leaving The Vampire Diaries. The Bulgarian-Canadian actress and model wanted to move on from TVD and make the move to a film career. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen and Nina is now rumored to be desperate for a role on a show currently enjoying success like Empire and The Walking Dead.
Now that The Vampire Diaries has essentially been given the kiss of death and moved to Friday nights, the cast has seemingly given up on teasing Nina Dobrev’s return. Showrunners made fans do a facepalm by bringing in a Dobrev doppleganger – Leslie-Anne Huff. Fans immediately saw Huff’s resemblance to Nina and felt it was a cheap ploy. Executive producer Caroline Dries denied Leslie-Anne is a deliberate replacement of Dobrev, but fans are still shaking their heads.
At least, now, Ian Somerhalder understands part of the reason why Nina Dobrev left TVD. Ian is reportedly trying to save his career with the help of Nikki Reed. Nikki has been trying to persuade Somerhalder to pursue films and other projects, but The Vampire Diaries move to Friday night finally pushed Ian into giving up on TVD. The CW star is now trying to distance himself from the series without appearing to be jumping ship, according to rumors.
