Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston are reportedly planning to get married soon, but if that’s the case, why are we still getting stories about Jennifer Aniston flirting with other men? According to a new report from the National Enquirer, Justin Theroux is jealous of Jennifer Aniston’s close new friendship with Eddie Redmayne. Never mind that Eddie is a happily married newlywed, and that he’s friendly with EVERYBODY.
The Enquirer’s source explains, “Jen and Eddie got VERY close after running into each other a lot on the Oscar circuit. He smothers Jen with compliments and she laps up the attention. She says his accent and boyish charm are irresistible. Eddie hasn’t stopped him from gushing over Aniston. Now, Justin is not amused with the attention being lavished on his lady love. He saw that Jen and Eddie have been texting and calling each other, and confronted her about it.”
First of all, I guarantee you that Jennifer’s and Eddie’s ‘closeness’ on the awards circuit had to do with campaigning more than anything else. Eddie Redmayne’s chances for a Best Actor Oscar are slowly picking up steam after he won the Screen Actors Guild and the BAFTA Award, and Jennifer Aniston is connected among Academy voters. Eddie is making sure that he schmoozes all the big players, and Jennifer Aniston is definitely a big player. And trust me, Eddie lavishing this much attention on her [as opposed to say, Angelina Jolie] is probably a huge ego boost for Jennifer, especially since Eddie is so talented and so popular in the industry right now. Besides, Eddie and Jennifer are reportedly planning to do a movie together, so they would have HAD to get along.
I’m calling BS on this report, only because Justin Theroux honestly doesn’t seem like the jealous type. And if he was, he would not be a jealous of a skinny, married British boy – despite that boy’s chances of winning an Oscar. Jennifer Aniston is desperate for an Oscar, sure, but flirting with a Best Actor contender isn’t going to get her anywhere.
