It’s no secret that Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie aren’t the best of friends – their decade long feud has been the cover story for many many magazine over the years. Ironically, Jennifer Anniston and Angelia Jolie’s father Jon Voight are best friends. Awkward! According to a new report from the February 2nd edition of GLOBE Magazine, Jon and Jen bonded at an award’s show several years ago over their mutual issues with his estranged daughter Angelina Jolie – and they have kept in contact ever since.
Jennifer Anniston isn’t the only person who has had a problem with Angeline over the years – she has been feuding with her own father Jon Voigt for even longer. But, despite her family issues, onlookers were still shocked to see Jon and Jen hanging out at the Golden Globe Awards on January 11th. According to GLOBE Magazine, “Not surprisingly, Angelina is said to be less-than-pleased with the situation, which has added further friction to her estranged relationship with her dad.
One of GLOBE’s Hollywood insiders reveals, “Jon has been something of a guiding light to Jen, she often turns to him for career advice. He’s sweet and funny, and like a favorite uncle to her. Jen can’t believe he is the same flesh and blood as Angie. Jon is always telling Jen’s dad (John Anniston) how he is so lucky to have such a perfect daughter.” Of course, being friends with your arch enemy’s father has its benefits – Jon Voight always shares tidbits of gossip about Angie and Brad’s marriage to Jen, and we’re sure she enjoys every second of it.
We totally get that Jon Voight is a cute old man – but we aren’t exactly buying that Jennifer has remained in contact with him over the years for “career advice.” Her own father John Anniston has been acting his entire life, and could certainly be her “guiding light.” It sounds to us like Jennifer enjoys getting under Angie’s skin, and hanging out with her dad is a perfect way to do so!
