Kim Kardashian would never pass up a chance to make a couple bucks, regardless of what product she is being paid to pimp out. But we have a sneaking suspicion that she is beginning to second guess her contract, which undoubtedly she signed her life away in, with Hype energy drinks. Kim’s new Hype energy drink commercial hit the internet this week, and let’s just say it didn’t exactly “break the internet,” but it definitely confused the hell out of the internet.
The Hype commercial kicks off bizarre music playing while Kim Kardashian rides around on a bicycle dressed as Audrey Hepburn with a basket full of energy drinks. Shocker, she crashes, and obviously she wasn’t wearing a helmet because that would have messed up her Audrey Hepburn bangs. Kim/Audrey cracks her head off the pavement and then is knocked out and begins dreaming about Marie Antoinette. The dream sequence shows Kim decked out in medieval get-up with bleached hair and eyebrows sipping Hype Energy drinks from crystal – while the creepy music continues to play.
Kim/Audrey suddenly wakes up and peels herself off from the pavement, and the commercial ends with Kim dressed in a weird plastic dress that looks like she is headed to Comic-Con, or some sort of alien convention. Needless to say, no one is rushing to the store to stock on Hype energy drinks, although if they are trying to market them as hallucinogens – then they could make a real killing.
Of course, Kim will most likely accuse skeptics of being shallow and simple-minded and not understanding the artwork behind the Hype commercial. Seriously, we would love to hear her explain what is so artistic about her channeling Audrey Hepburn, Marie Antoinette, and a Cyborg all in a 2 minute time span.
