Is Nina Dobrev dating Mark Foster? Is Nina Dobrev dating Chris Wood, her hot co-star in The Vampire Diaries? Is Nina Dobrev still stuck in a situation with her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder? The tabloids have every single on of these situations happening at any given time, but based on pretty concrete reports, we’ve heard that Nina is ‘dating’ Mark Foster. Now, she’s been using Chris Wood as legitimate PR to distract from the Mark Foster relationship – i.e. those cutesy Instagram photos. But that being said, we’re also hearing that Nina’s relationship with Mark isn’t necessarily a valid one, but one constructed for PR reasons.
Now, Nina and Mark have been dating [or ‘dating’, depending on your viewpoint] for a couple of months, but we only heard about it last month. They’ve kept things relatively private, which does throw the whole ‘PR showmance’ thing out of the question, right? After all, what is the point of doing a showmance if you’re not being public about it, i.e. Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed?
But as we’ve said time and time again, the entire Vampire Diaries cast is excellent at media manipulation and PR strategizing, and their place in pop culture proves that. Their fandoms are crazy, and will do anything and everything to support their favorite stars – including defending them based on their ridiculous relationship situations.
At the end of the day, Nina Dobrev and Mark Foster could be ‘dating’ for PR – or Nina could just be using all these ‘relationships’ to help keep herself in the public eye, and then launch her movie career. Or she could be actually dating Mark Foster, but keeping the relationship private out of pressure from the executives and her team to remain ‘officially’ single.
