“Orange Is The New Black” actress Dascha Polanco is looking at possible assault charges after a minor girl accused the starlet of punching her in a brutal attack that led to her arrest.
Michelle Cardona claims that Dascha beat up the 17-year old girl at her home in Upper Manhattan back in July. Dascha Polanco had her day in court on Thursday, December 3 for the alleged July attack.
The Orange Is the New Black star will likely face charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment for the alleged attack of a minor that led to her July 29 arrest. Now here is where it gets weird. According to the court documents, Dascha Polanco invited the 17-year old girl over to her NYC apartment.
The reports claim that she sent Michelle Cardona a text message to invite her over and once inside the home, Dascha attacked her. It is unclear why Dascha may have attacked the Cardona like that or if she did at all.
Dascha’s camp claims the whole assault allegation is simply a money grab. Polanco’s lawyer Gerald Lefcourt released a statement that claimed. “It’s a setup to try to get money and it was tape-recorded.”
Lefcourt continued, “This young woman was trying to extort her to drop the case. We’re confident the charges will be dismissed.” Michelle Cardona did visit the hospital and was suffering from“bruising and redness to her face, scratches to her arms, and substantial pain,” according to court documents.
Cardona got attacked by somebody or she did a great job of making it look that way. Also, Dascha’s lawyer never said his client was innocent – just that Cardona tried to get a quick payout for the beatdown and because of that, the judge will throw it out.
Whether Polanco beat up a 17-year old or not, there is still the question of why she invited Cardona over to her house in the first place and how did that housecall turn into a fist fight?
Was it over a man or was Cardona a bad babysitter? There is no word on the scenario that brought Dascha and Michelle together and why the 33-year old actress would attack someone nearly half her age in the first place.
