‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Show Revamped, Rick’s Character Changes

The Walking Dead spoilers for season 6 indicate a change in character for Rick and a general revamping of the hit show. AMC recently released a teaser video featuring the cast and crew of ‘The Walking Dead’ discussing spoilers, plots, and theories of season 6. Based on the tidbits the producers shared, we can expect that show to see another revamp and some possible character changes for Rick Grimes.

Scott Gimple, Executive Producer of the TWD, is the brain and controls the direction of season six of ‘The Walking Dead’. Scott promised fans he has a plan, but won’t share the details. Denise Huth, Co-Executive Producer, even admitted, “He [Gimple] has a plan. I just don’t know what it is.”

The only repeated clues that have been officially confirmed by the showrunners is that humans will take a back seat to the bigger threat of walkers, and every 8 episodes the show will reinvent itself. Gimple did add, “These new eight episodes will be very different than these last eight episodes.”

A big question for season 6 of TWD is, “Who will gain control of Alexandria?” Season 5 closed with Rick executing wife-beating Pete. Things are different now that Rick and his group have entered the Safe Zone. The last half of the season saw Rick morphing into the cop with a conscious to a more Governor-style character which has fans wondering, “Will Rick Grimes be the villain?”

It’s a strong thought and a great possibility to see some major Walking Dead changes. It would stray from the base of the graphic novel’s plot, and the show has stuck with the skeleton of the book version. So, it’s unlikely, but not out of the question. The TV show version of ‘The Walking Dead’ has seen many deviations from the written tome. For instance, Carol has long been dead in the comic, while Andrea is alive and Rick’s sharp-shooting right hand.

Rick as a villain might be a welcomed new angle. For a while now, Rick goes crazy and brings it back down to a calmer center, then goes crazy again and, following his pattern, simmers down. That formula is stale in the view of most TWD fans. So, let’s hope his character gets a direction and sticks with it.

Greg Nicotero, also mentions The Wolves and their part in season six. No word on official confirmation regarding their part in the next season of TWD, but it’s safe to bet they will be a part of the “very bad things” lurking outside the deceptively “safe” walls of Alexandria.

Norman Reedus, who plays the tough but tender Daryl Dixon, predicted “total chaos” in the teaser. While Andrew Lincoln reminded viewers, “There’s always going to be blood.”
