When Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice were being investigated for federal crimes, the women of The Real Housewives of New Jersey clearly took sides. We all tuned into see the drama unfold, but it really didn’t start until news of the couple’s crimes came to light. Back in 2014, they pleaded guilty to 9 counts of wire, mail, bank and bankruptcy fraud.
Teresa Giudice got through her 11-month sentence by doing yoga and staying calm. Joe Giudice isn’t having such an easy time of it, a source told US Weekly: “Joe is struggling. He was moved from general population and is now with the illegal immigrants. He has no one to lean on.”
Poor Joe. Perhaps you should try to contain that Italian temper of yours. You’ve got a long way to go in the slammer, my friend.
If you’ll recall, Teresa didn’t have anyone to lean on either but herself. She wrote in her diary, kept in shape, and thought of her husband and girls. She’s published a memoir titled Turning The Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again. In her book, Teresa discusses how her prison cell was nicknamed the “boom boom room” because her fellow inmates would have sex there.
Maybe Joe isn’t as tough as his wife? On top of finishing the remainder of his 36-month sentence at New Jersey’s Fort Dix Prison, the Italian native is also facing possible deportation. Perhaps he’ll be sent off to Italy. That’s rather unfair, though, because Teresa had to serve her full sentence. Joe’s only been in jail three months.
Joe Giudice just celebrated his first birthday behind bars without Teresa Giudice or his four daughters at his side. You’d wonder if thinking of his family would sober him up to grin and bear his sentence.
We’re certain that Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 6, really miss their father. Too bad it’ll be almost 3 years until he’s free to help raise them again.
