Miley Cyrus is the new The Voice coach and Gwen Stefani is out. Pharrell Williams is not returning. That’s quite a shake-up for the The Voice Season 11 – which is currently a Blake Shelton centered NBC reality show.
TMZ reports that sources with ties to The Voice say Miley will be a very important part of the show because “she appeals to the desired TV demo.” You can’t argue, Miley definitely is a favorite with the millennials.
The Voice is set to become even bigger than it already is now that American Idol is bowing out of the singing completion business. That makes it more important than ever to have the right people in the coaches’ seat and Miley is IT.
Another new face fans will see on The Voice for its eleventh season is Alicia Keys. The singer and songwriter will replace Pharrell Williams. The new lineup of coaches is: Blake Shelton, of course, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.
For whatever reason producers have decided not to keep Gwen Stefani in as an alternate to Christina Aguilera. At this time there has not been any comment made regarding Gwen Stefani’s departure as an alternative coach.
Miley will bring a young and fresh vibe to The Voice which will be fun to watch. In addition, a chance to work with Miley Cyrus may entice younger contestants to audition for the singing competition.
There is no word yet on why Pharrell Williams will not be returning. Shakira has been considered as a coach but plans to rotate the singer in have been shelved for now.
Do you think Miley will be a welcome change to The Voice coaches? Will Miley fit in well with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine? Miley is very opinionated and probably isn’t going to hold back when it comes to calling out Blake and Adam.
The guys better watch out because Miley is going to be the wild card and the one to watch on the new season of The Voice.
