Prince William recently compared his looks to his late mother, Princess Diana, after a fan suggested that he looks so much like the beloved royal icon. Prince William has always been regarded as one of the best looking royals, of course until his Kate Middleton marriage.
The moment Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot, his most eligible royal bachelor title was handed down to his little brother, Prince Harry. Prince William’s days as a heartthrob are long gone, as Prince Harry has won over fans from all over the world with his charm and boyish good-looks. Prince William, on the other hand, has often looked tired, frustrated and even downright bored whenever he makes a public appearance with Kate Middleton on behalf of the British royal family.
Yet, it seems as though Prince William took a page out of Prince Harry’s book when he was recently told that he looks a lot like his late mother, Princess Diana. After all, Prince William and Kate Middleton know that they need to shed their stiff-upper-lip and snobbish attitude in public. According to Us Weekly, when a retired teacher told Prince William that he looks so much like his later mother, he replied with, “I think my mum was better looking.”
Surely, Prince William was just being coy, but at the same time he knows that his looks have changed drastically over the years. Rather than hide it or feel ashamed over it, Prince William has embraced his bald patch and his receding hairline, despite public ridicule. Of course, there’s not very much Prince William can do about his baldness, and that’s why he’s accepted it the way it is.
Of course, Prince William is none too worried about public opinion these days, especially when it comes to his appearance. In fact, Prince William doesn’t seem to care at all about what the public thinks of him as both he and Kate Middleton have often been criticized for being “tone deaf” when it comes to their lack of charity work and royal obligations.
But Prince William knows that as the future King of England he still needs to put in an effort to win back a more favorable public opinion whether he likes it or not. After all, with everything Queen Elizabeth has done to help preserve royal traditions and his own mother Princess Diana’s legacy, Prince William knows that he and Kate Middleton don’t want to be the reason why the British royal monarchy falls apart.
