Chrissy Metz is in a wheelchair, but it’s not what you think. Many eyewitnesses believed that Chrissy might have had gastric bypass surgery after being spotted in a wheelchair at Los Angeles’ LAX airport this past week. After all, her ‘This Is Us’ character Kate Pearson vowed to have gastric bypass surgery during the last episode of the show.
But apparently, that’s not the case. The Hollywood actress hurt her knee in Florida during Christmas break and that’s why she was spotted being pushed in a wheelchair at LAX. Still, ‘This Is Us’ fans can’t help but wonder if producers are upset that Chrissy might be delaying her surgery. While Chrissy admits that she wants to lose the weight gradually and in a healthy way, fans are worried that she might not lose enough in time for the show.
In fact, Chrissy even admitted that her weight loss is a part of her contract. She’s supposed to lose weight as the season progresses in order to reflect her character Kate and her growing confidence and motivation. And so far that hasn’t happened. Yet, Chrissy says she’s determined to drop the weight one way or another, and that’s why so many fans believe she is going to have gastric bypass surgery. But Chrissy’s team told TMZ that it hasn’t happened yet.
The actress recently told TV Line, “In our contract, it did state that that would be a part of it, to lose the weight in the trajectory of the character as she comes to find herself. That was a win-win for me. Because it’s one thing to try to do it on your own. But as human beings, it’s an ego thing: We’re more likely to do something for someone else.”
