Kate Middleton Following Princess Diana: Child Rearing The Lady Di Way

Kate Middleton and Princess Diana Similarities

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is taking a Princess Diana route when it comes to her children. According to palace insiders, Kate Middleton will NOT allow her children to be left behind as her royal duties and royal engagements increase. Her children are her first priority, bar none. Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former butler, recently spoke to Closer Weekly and revealed some startling truths about Kate Middleton’s quest to save her children from the monarchical duties.

“Kate’s top priority is to her family. [Kate has] proudly [taken on more royal duties, prior to her recent pregnancy and acute morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum.] [Kate is] so relatable to modern mothers,” says Burrell. Indeed she is. Kate Middleton has not struggled with the limelight like Princess Diana did, but I am quite sure that the role of future Queen of England is tough for anyone, no matter what you’re made of. The fact that Kate is making her children top priority not only speaks volumes about her, but it also harks back to Prince William and Prince Harry’s childhood.

Princess Diana refused to allow her kids to get gobbled up by the royal pomp and pizzazz. She sent them to normal schools and acted like a normal mother around them. Admittedly, Princess Diana had many faults, but she never let her children suffer from the same fate that she did. This has become even more prevalent in the way Prince William is raising his children. And with a third baby on the way, it’s imperative that Kate and Prince William act accordingly.

Unfortunately, due to Kate’s terrible morning sickness, she’s taken a backseat on current royal engagements. It was only recently when Prince Phillip, the Queen’s husband, decided to retire from royal duties, and with the Queen aging slowly but surely, the hammer now falls on Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles (the Duchess of Cornwall), and Kate and Prince William to take over the load from the Queen.

People who despise the monarchy – yes, there’s quite a few of them – wouldn’t agree with what’s being written about Kate’s parenting. You can say what you want – Kate Middleton knows what’s best for her children and perhaps we should let her have it? Princess Diana did a bang up job of Prince William and Prince Harry (well, perhaps not so much in the latter).

What do you think? Is Kate Middleton treating her children right? Should she keep them out of the limelight until they’re old enough to decide for themselves? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
