Taylor Swift has been taking time away from the public eye. The singer is reportedly hiding away in Nashville, Tennessee where she’s making new music. But, she’s not hiding because she’s focused on her music career. You see, Taylor loves being the spotlight. She is the type of celebrity who calls the paparazzi, stages her pap photos, and stages her Instagram photos. She hates not being in the public eye for very long, or not being talked about in the media.
It’s not like the singer is trying to pull a Beyoncé. Yes, Taylor Swift is working on a new album. But, that’s not the reason why she’s hiding away. There is something more to it. Before Swift took a break from the spotlight, she was constantly in the news. She was criticized for her high-profile relationships with DJ Calvin Harris and actor Tom Hiddleston. She was also hailed as a snake after Kim Kardashian revealed Swift approved Kanye West’s lyrics to his song “Famous.”
Taylor loves the praise that comes with being a celebrity. But, she can’t handle the criticism. She thought everyone would forget about her ongoing feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. So, she distracted everyone by going on a whirlwind romance with Tom Hiddleston around the time. The couple created controversy when they were seen meeting each other’s families within the time span of a few weeks. Taylor thought this new romance would make everyone love her again. It just made both stars look bad and desperate.
Of course, all good things don’t last forever. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston called it quits in September. Before then, she embarrassed him by having him wear an “I Love T.S.” tank top at her Fourth of July party. She assumed that everyone else would love it. Little did she know, the internet would mock it and turn Tom Hiddleston into an internet meme.
Taylor Swift has been in hiding in months. She’s kind of embarrassed of what has happened as well, but she’s ready to make a comeback. She’s been out of the spotlight for far too long and wants to get into the public’s good graces again. After giving her last performance of the year, an alleged source told People why Swift has been hiding away.
“Taylor made the conscious choice to disappear,” says the source. “She was feeling overexposed and like things were almost spiraling out of control. She likes being low-key and secretive [right now] because it makes her happy.”
The singer has “surrounded herself with close friends who support her,” continues the source. “She seems very happy.”
