General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s some comings and goings news to pass along. First, let’s talk about Elizabeth Hendrickson’s character. She first reported to set on May 3, so her first GH scenes are inching closer. We’re also learning more details about Hendrickson’s role.
Some fans have been speculating about potential parts for Hendrickson. They’ve been coming with recast possibilities and wondering if Hendrickson will take over an already established role. However, that’s never been General Hospital’s plan. Hendrickson is playing a brand-new character that GH viewers don’t know yet.
Soap Opera Digest also revealed more about the casting process for this character in their latest issue. It turns out Hendrickson was up against some other big soap names as she auditioned for this part. She screen-tested with Billy Miller (Drew) along with the rest of the competition. That seems like a clear sign that this was a Drew love interest hunt.
General Hospital obviously wants Drew and Hendrickson’s character to have plenty of scenes together. They had to make sure the chemistry from their days on The Young and the Restless held up. Hendrickson proved she was the best fit for the part, so GH fans look forward to seeing her son!
In other General Hospital news, Kirsten Storms (Maxie) has re-signed with the ABC soap. She renewed her contract, so we’ve got a lot more Maxie headed our way. However, Maxie will have a different face for two episodes. Since Storms had the flu, she had to be replaced by Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie on Days of Our Lives) briefly. Burnett has filled in for Storms before, so she gladly stepped up.
General Hospital spoilers say Burnett’s episodes will air on June 1 and June 4. Storms will get right back in the action once Burnett’s short stint concludes. Maxie’s got some hot material in the works, so be sure to keep watching.
