Kate Middleton has skipped out on a very important society wedding that was attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in London over the weekend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on hand to celebrate Prince Harry’s good friend Charlie van Straubanzee as he married his fiancé, Daisy Jenks in an elaborate ceremony.
Unfortunately, both Prince William and Kate Middleton were nowhere to be seen even though the couple know Charlie and the Straubanzee family quite well, according to reports. As a matter of fact, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expected to attend the wedding.
After all, Charlie’s older brother Thomas is Godfather to their daughter, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte. But for some reason or another, Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to opt out of the festivities.
One of the reasons why Prince William and Kate Middleton might not have attended the wedding is because they still might be on vacation with their family on the Caribbean island of Mustique. The royal couple have been enjoying the sand and surf on the private island for several weeks now.
One report even suggests that Prince William and Kate Middleton might have attended the church service, but were simply not photographed, but even royal critics know that this is highly unlikely. For the past week it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would attend the wedding, even though it fell on the same day as her 37th birthday.
The royal couple attended the ceremony and reception anyway, with the media also there to capture their each and every move outside of the church. As the royals are very close with the Straubanzee family, Prince William and Kate Middleton were perhaps also invited, but simply decided not to attend just because the date coincided with their family vacation in the Caribbean.
Seeing how the Duke and Duchess have not been spotted in London, there’s a strong possibility that they might still be vacationing in Mustique. The last time William and Kate were seen in public was during their cocktail date night on the island a little over a week ago.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments as to why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided to skip out on the wedding.
