The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) return to Genoa City proves fortuitous for her mother. The resumption of a battle with Vickie (Amelia Heinle) pushes her shady sister back into the crosshairs.
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was smeared out of her job by Victoria and Jack (Peter Bergman). Initially, their goal worked as Victor (Eric Braeden) fired the woman he just hired as Newman Enterprises Chief Innovation Officer. But that’s hardly the end of this dramatic storyline.
As Y&R viewers recall, Ashley didn’t solicit Victor’s interest in hiring her after she left Jabot. Instead, the Moustache asked Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to help him convince his former wife that working at Newman would be good. Niktor was successful and Ashley was glad to come aboard, where she hoped to do battle with her brother on business fronts.
At the time Ashley believed that she was doing what was best on a personal and business basis. But Jabot’s former top executive didn’t anticipate that her own brother would conspire with Newman’s Ice Princess to upend her run just weeks after it had begun.
Abby’s return wasn’t expected by her family. Viewers knew that Ordway was gone from the set during maternity leave. Based upon advanced filming schedules that soaps generally follow, Ordway was away from work for approximately two months. Her return is welcomed, as Abby is now vital to the evolution of this arc.
Ashley welcomed her daughter back from Europe, along with Dina (Marla Adams). As a result, Newman’s deposed CIO might be able to reclaim her job, which assumes she’ll be willing to do so.
Vickie sent J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) on a search for clues within Jabot that she knew would yield poisoned fruit. The watermarked documents he retrieved from Jack’s secure drawer were bogus. But the Moustache didn’t know that.
Victor took the information his security officer gave him and also conducted an additional, though very brief, investigation. He determined that Ashley was in the wrong and ousted her, which sparked threats of legal retaliation.
Vickie will be eventually revealed as Newman’s true trouble-maker on Monday’s new Y&R episode, March 12. Victor will have egg on his face when that happens. Whether Ashley chooses to accept his anticipated apology at that point is uncertain. But at least she’ll have Abby to lean on. She’s one family member who can be trusted.
In the meantime Vickie and Jack should feel ashamed, but they don’t. Their shared bad behavior grew from insecurities which remain intact. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
