General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will continue to support Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Nevertheless, he can’t seem to stop ribbing Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) about not understanding Anna. Is Robert secretly trying to sabotage Finn and Anna’s relationship? Does he want Anna back?
Robert always gives Finn advice on how to romance Anna, but is that advice only reminding her of their life together as super spies? Anna and Robert have shared some very intimate moments and will always be connected through Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) as well as their grandchildren. Robert appears to miss Anna, especially considering how often he turns up in Port Charles these days.
Is Robert really just there to support Anna? Could he actually want more? General Hospital had several spies years ago. Robert and Anna were among the best of them, so they’ve been through a lot together. However, the spy stories are like mob stories; they’ve become a thing of the past. Anna and Robert hardly have any chance of adventure anymore.
Chasing people like Heinrik Faison is nothing like the spy stories GH used to tell. There are no cartels like Frank Smith’s to fight, no partners like Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), no villains like Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) and Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos), no stories like the Ice Princess…
As a result, Anna and Robert would quickly become bored with the humdrum life. Robert is still working with the WSB, but Anna is mostly in Port Charles. It feels like Robert and Anna’s time has passed, but could they recapture it again?
Whether it’s a romantic reunion or just renewed partnership, it’d be great if GH could get back in the adventure game. There are surely some grand, sweeping stories they could tell. People have been longing for the Cassadine storyline GH hinted at but never delivered. General Hospital is currently putting all their eggs in one Dawn of Day basket, but maybe they could branch out by thinking bigger and better.
Finn’s been holding off on proposing to Anna for some time now. He’ll struggle to find the courage, but he’ll most likely pop the question eventually. Will Anna take Finn up on his proposal, or will her connection to Robert give her pause? Would Anna be better suited to Robert instead? It all depends on what GH has in store next.
This could be GH’s chance to bring back Anna’s fierce side or they could let her settle down, but it’d be nice to see some old-school excitement return one way or another!
