The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) realize he’s losing the fight. After he found out Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was pursuing Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), Liam was ready to protect their marriage. He loves Hope and doesn’t want his relationship to fall apart, so he’s willing to do whatever it takes to save it.
Unfortunately, “Lope’s” problems started long before Thomas returned to town. Their issues can be traced back to that fateful night on Catalina Island. If Beth Spencer were still in their lives, Liam and Hope would probably be one big happy family with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington and Chloe Teperman). Instead, their world took a dark turn.
Although Hope has tried to heal her broken heart, she may never truly get over this crushing loss – at least not until B&B reveals Beth is alive! Since that’s not happening anytime soon, Hope has to carry the burden of her grief. She also has to face the guilt of keeping Liam from being a full-time father to Kelly and “Phoebe Forrester” (Isabella de Armas and Rosalind Aune).
Hope will eventually decide to trust what she feels in her heart. She truly believes Liam belongs with Steffy and the girls. A letter from Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) – or more likely, Thomas pretending to share Caroline’s words – will be instrumental in Hope’s decision. She’ll devastate Liam when she insists their marriage is over, but she’ll think he already knows that deep down.
Liam may admit that part him understands Hope’s feelings. He’ll still hate this, but they’ll reach a place of poignant acceptance. The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Liam will respect Hope’s choice and perhaps feel a bit of relief, but the road ahead will be difficult. Thankfully, Liam will get some comfort from Steffy. She’ll show up almost immediately after Hope ends things, so she’s in for a shock.
Liam will fill Steffy in on the painful conversation that just transpired. She may wonder if she should talk to Hope and try to change her mind. Steffy will likely fear she’s to blame somehow, but Liam should reassure her. “Lope” was never the same after losing Beth, so Liam will accept that and be willing to move on.
