The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Judah Mackey (Connor Newman) is involved a big storyline on the CBS soap. Connor is at the center of the drama that’s pulling Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) closer – much to Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) chagrin! Mackey’s been doing a great job since he made his Y&R debut earlier this year. He talked about his experience so far in an interview with Soap Opera Digest.
For starters, Mackey insisted he’s thrilled to be around such a fantastic cast and crew. He pointed out that there are always “good vibes” on set, so he has a blast filming and has been learning on the job. It turns out Mackey is also a big fan of his character’s wardrobe. He called Connor’s clothes “so cool” and mentioned some favorite items like Connor’s high-top camo sneakers.
Of course, Connor’s dealt with a lot of trauma over the last few months. It’s led to some bad behavior on Connor’s part, which Mackey admitted he enjoys playing. Mackey said, “Yes, it’s kind of fun because I get to act out without really upsetting anyone or getting in trouble!”
Since Mackey’s been getting quite a bit of airtime lately, he’s got plenty of lines to learn each week. Mackey noted that to prepare, he likes to go over the scenes by himself and then run lines with his dad. Naturally, Mackey talked about his TV dad, too. Many Young and the Restless fans have praised Grossman’s scenes with Mackey since they both portray that father-son bond so well.
“Mark and I connected from the beginning,” Mackey said. “He’s really funny and we play around. He’s such a good actor and that helps me be a better actor.” As for Mackey’s TV mom, he’s grateful to have her in his corner too. He called Egan “talented and awesome,” so it sounds like these three get along fabulously. We look forward to seeing what’s to come for the “Chadam” family!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will move in with Adam during the week of December 2-6, so Connor will be a step closer to reuniting his parents.
