The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that more losses could be headed Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) way. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) already took Dark Horse from his brother. Nick spent months building the company and making it into something he could proud of. Now that dream’s about to be handed over to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who’ll be running the ship thanks to blackmail.
Nick will undoubtedly be bitter about that, but he’ll focus on his main goal. All that really matters is keeping custody of Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) – and he’ll count on Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) to help. The Young and the Restless spoilers say that’ll be the plan initially. Chelsea will return on June 28 and deliver an ultimatum to her now ruthless ex.
Adam’s been getting awfully nasty since he hit town again and got his memories back. However, Chelsea is his Kryptonite and Nick will hope to use that to his advantage. He’ll also keep digging for dirt he can use against Adam in court, but he may be fighting a losing battle. That’s because Adam will have Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and ultimately Phyllis on his side.
Although Phyllis will remain a threat, she’ll also settle down and realize supporting Adam is in her best interest. Phyllis typically does what benefits her in that moment, so she’ll team up with Adam as he works against Nick. Naturally, Chelsea’s return will only intensify the conflict between these brothers.
The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Chelsea will battle some complicated feelings. Her love for Adam will still be there, but her love for Nick will start to flood back, too. Chelsea may find herself torn between them for a while, but Adam seems like the clear choice. “Chadam” can never stay apart for very long, and “Chick” was always a total snooze fest in the chemistry department.
There’s no guarantee Chelsea and Grossman’s Adam will be a hit with fans, but anything has to be better than Chelsea and Nick. We have no reason to root for that love story. That means Nick stands to lose his second chance with Chelsea, which should be one more blow.
Will Nick lose Christian, too? Since Adam will have his dream team and it would create the most drama, Y&R might as well give Adam the boy for a while. They could play this just like when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) temporarily scored custody. Maybe we’ll get to see Nick fly off the handle before Christian is hopefully returned to him.
Bottom line, Nick should fall into a pit of despair by the end of all this. Adam may take everything he holds dear! This could easily turn Nick into the dark brother who has to take what he wants by force.
