Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) days in Salem are numbered. Gabi’s story with Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) aka Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) is just starting to heat up, but it’ll cool down soon enough. That’s because Camila Banus is reportedly set to exit the NBC soap in the coming months.
Banus caused quite a stir in May when she posted about self-taping auditions and insisted she was an “actor available for work!!” That in combination with inside info on Gabi’s departure caused plenty of buzz on social media.
Although Banus later clarified that she’s been self-taping auditions for years, she never outright denied that she was leaving Days.
Of course, that was wise since Banus was and still is in the middle of DOOL’s biggest storyline. It’s safe to say the show’s producers would frown upon Banus spilling the exit beans – or confirming the leaked exit in this case. However, reliable Days of Our Lives insiders have never wavered from their claim that Gabi will indeed depart the show.
Even before Banus’ Instagram post looking for new acting roles, insiders insisted this exit was happening. It’s been in the works for a long time, so it’s best to start accepting that Gabi will indeed head off canvas.
Naturally, the door’s open for a return since characters come and go often in Salem. There’s a chance Banus will reenter contract negotiations and reprise her role after the shutdown.
At this point though, Camila Banus is OUT and there’s nothing to confirm she’ll be back. A Martinez is returning as Eduardo Hernandez, so that’ll most likely tie in with Gabi’s looming departure.
The same goes for Rafe, who’ll be exiting the show around the end of August. Since Martinez is only back temporarily as Eduardo, DOOL’s delivering a Hernandez family exit.
