General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) resolve is already weakening. She thought she could commit to revenge on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), but her happiness got in the way. Valentin consistently lies and causes drama, but part of Nina will always love him.
Nina also adores Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez), who was a big reason why she considered saying her vows anyway. Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) burst in holding Ava Jerome (Maura West) before Nina had the chance. Although Valentin faced the sting of betrayal, he knew he deserved it.
However, as Valentin pointed out – there’s a thin line between love and hate. He just wants Nina to feel whole again, but can she ever feel whole without the family she’s found in Valentin and Charlotte? That’s something Nina will have to figure out as this storyline moves forward.
There have definitely been signs of sparks between Nina and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher). GH could easily take things in a romantic direction if they wanted to. Of course, they could just as easily pull back and have them stick with friendship. If Nina were to get together with Jax, it’s obvious it wouldn’t last.
Let’s be real here: Nina is always going to drift back to Valentin and the bond they share. Their hearts are intertwined in a way that no one else can really understand. Is Nina always going to get through her love for Valentin? Probably. Does that change the fact that her love will endure? Probably not.
When Nina reflected on this whole ordeal, she seemingly offered big hints about where the story’s ultimately headed. Nina showed sympathy for Valentin, who she feels was treated like a kidnapper. She also remembered how Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) asked her if the truth was worth giving up her family.
Nina pointed out that if she’d made another choice, she would’ve been reading another chapter of Little Women to Charlotte with Valentin. It appears Nina’s wishing she’d indeed chosen that life instead of the disaster that’s unfolding now.
Fortunately, Nina still has a chance to get her bliss back. Valentin certainly still loves Nina and would reunite in a heartbeat. He may need Nina more than ever after this custody chaos with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) plays out. Based on the clues General Hospital’s provided, the Charlotte battle could end one of two ways.
It seems likely either Valentin isn’t Charlotte’s father or Lulu isn’t Charlotte’s mother. We seem to be gearing up for a rewrite since there’s all this talk about Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson), who should be found soon. You can bet Claudette will have some secrets to spill!
Valentin will need Nina’s support no matter how this plays out. If he learns he’s not Charlotte’s bio dad or it comes out that he knew and hid it, Valentin’s going to be devastated. That could pull Nina back to him as she tries to offer comfort.
On the other hand, poor Charlotte’s going to be confused and shaken if Lulu isn’t her mother. Valentin may cut Lulu out of the picture, so Nina could step up to fill the void. Then again, Nina could convince Valentin to let Charlotte stay in contact with Lulu. She might think Lulu and Charlotte should keep their bond intact for stability’s sake.
Any way you slice it, Valentin is going to need Nina as his rock. Will this Charlotte custody mayhem be what pulls Nina and Valentin back together?
