General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the consequences of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) fake affair will continue to take a toll – particularly on Sasha. GH fans know Sasha’s always been supportive of Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) putting Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) first. That’s why Sasha was suggested Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) as an alternative bride.
However, desperate times called for desperate measures when Michael and Willow wouldn’t cooperate. That led to Sasha’s faux cheating with Chase, but losing Michael has been tougher than Sasha thought it’d be.
Part of that may be due to the nature of how all this went down. It would’ve been different if things had gone like Sasha and Michael talked about.
Sasha was more than willing to step aside – and Michael was willing to let her. They established that if this Willow marriage actually happened, Michael would promise Sasha that they’d be together someday. They would’ve parted ways on good terms temporarily for Wiley’s sake.
In the end, Chase was willing to take a step back from Willow, too. This whole plot was basically done to convince Willow, but it seemed like a terrible way to go about it.
Regardless, Sasha no longer has Michael’s promise of a future together. That’s especially true because Michael will be free to truly open his heart to Willow in this marriage.
How’s Sasha going to feel as Michael and Willow inevitably grow closer? Sasha will be on the outside looking in – wishing it could’ve been her instead. It’ll be hard for Sasha to think about what might’ve been as Michael, Willow and Wiley become a happy family.
General Hospital established that despite Sasha and Michael’s engagement lasting only about 15 minutes, it was long enough for Sasha to be disappointed when it ended. Sasha was willing to marry Michael and be a mom to Wiley, but her shady background presented a hurdle.
Love will inevitably bloom between Michael and Willow, despite what Willow tells Michael on May 11. Willow wonders if Michael can marry a woman who’ll probably never love him, but they’re practically halfway there already! Between their friendship and adoration of little Wiley, it’ll be so easy for Michael and Willow to find love.
As a result, Sasha’s bound to reach her breaking point sooner or later. General Hospital spoilers say Sasha will indeed spin out of control thanks to this marriage. It turns out Sasha will develop an unhealthy coping mechanism, so what might that be? Could GH have offered up a hint in the immediate aftermath of the “cheating” shocker?
Chase brought out the selection their “wine guy” had provided for the evening. Willow and Chase were supposed to drink it since they’ve been exploring different wines.
Chase offered Sasha a glass instead and proposed a toast. When Sasha wondered what they could possibly be toasting to, Chase suggested they should toast to all this hopefully being worth it.
On a different occasion, Sasha went looking for something stronger to drink. Could Sasha develop a drinking problem soon enough? That wine scene might’ve been a clue about where things are headed. It’s easy to imagine Sasha becoming an alcoholic as she tries to cope with losing Michael.
That’d present some interesting opportunities – like tugging at Michael’s heartstrings and pulling him closer again despite this Willow marriage. It could also set up a rehab exit or a drunken and deadly crash departure if General Hospital eventually needs one.
Regardless, look for some reckless behavior from Sasha on May 21. It could be the beginning of a downward spiral. As other GH news comes in, we’ll pass along hot updates.
