The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will continue to throw himself into work, which should make Chancellor Communications a big success. Billy certainly has a nice partnership with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) – and many Y&R fans see the potential for a hot romance to develop.
However, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) has also joined the team. That’s interesting since Amanda and Billy were almost an item at one point. Why is Y&R keeping Amanda in Billy’s orbit? Amanda’s found a nice spark with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but that doesn’t mean she can get Billy off her mind.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy will indeed haunt Amanda in a way. Will Amanda regret telling Billy they should just be friends? Amanda seemed ready for a fresh start away from all the Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes) reminders.
Since Amanda followed Billy to the gala where Ripley stabbed Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), it was a horrifying ordeal for all parties involved.
It’s understandable that Amanda would want a clean break and a new beginning with Nate. At the same time, Nate doesn’t really seem like the deep soul that Amanda goes for. The doc is caring and attractive, but Billy and Amanda are kindred spirits.
Their wounded hearts helped them connect in a way that neither of them truly understood.
That story of friendship seemed more like two people falling in love without realizing it. Perhaps now Amanda and Billy do realize it – even if they’re not willing to admit it. Billy has a bubbly energy around Lily, but some viewers prefer the intense chemistry that Billy and Amanda have. It feels like a waste to offer all that buildup and have it go nowhere.
Amanda and Billy indulged in a kiss, but Y&R needs to take the next step. A hot hookup or even a full-blown romance should be explored. Billy can always be paired up with Lily later if things don’t work out with Amanda.
However, Billy and Amanda fans deserve to see this duo have a little moment to shine. The Young and the Restless teased this possibility for months – and they’re still teasing it now with this Chancellor link. Why keep dangling the option of Billy and Amanda getting together somehow? That seems cruel to Amanda and Billy shippers if it’s never going to happen!
