General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, September 17, reveals that an explosion trap was set for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) – and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) raged after Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) insisted their love was real.

At the wedding on Friday’s GH episode, Jason and Carly made it through the ceremony without any objections. After they were pronounced husband and wife, Jason kissed the bride before they walked out together.

Carly and Jason wound up back in her bridal dressing room, where they shared a close moment and nearly kissed before Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) interrupted.

Jason and Carly knew they had to get back out there since Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would be looking for them, so they dashed off.

Josslyn was starting to believe in marriage now despite so many people in her life being against it. She mentioned Michael’s previous marriage of convenience to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and wondered if they might marry for love at some point.

Michael didn’t want to get ahead of himself on things, but he told Josslyn that was definitely a possibility.

As for Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), he was glum about his own situation with Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) as he talked to Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).

The topic of Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) going after the Quartermaines also came up.

Diane decided that since she worked on the probate, she should have a little chat with Austin.

Meanwhile, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) was glad she kept her mouth shut about her previous doubts since Carly and Jason looked so happy.

Even Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) seemed supportive of the union at this point.

Mrs. Wu (Lydia Look) moved close to Jason and whispered something to him at one point.

As for Vincent Novak (Glenn Taranto), he asked Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) to make sure Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) had a good time at the reception since he had to take off and deal with something.

Vincent joined Mr. Buscema (Burt Tangredi) in a car as they discussed how the world would soon be a better place without Jason and Carly in it. The newlyweds exited through a swarm of bubbles before getting in a car of their own.

Carly insisted they’d have their happy ending or die trying. She also wondered what Mrs. Wu told Jason, so he admitted Mrs. Wu confirmed something he already knew.

A bomb could be seen under a car before an explosion happened, but it’s obvious Vincent and Mr. Buscema’s car was the one that blew up!

Jason no doubt ordered a swap that meant the mobsters became victims of their own scheme.

In Nixon Falls, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) was devastated over The Tan-O being a total loss.

Nina desperately wanted to get to Sonny before it was too late, but Phyllis and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) urged Nina to accept he was gone.

Fortunately, Sonny got out from under the beam and exited the burning building against all odds.

Nina rushed to Sonny’s side and crouched down with him. She declared that they were going to be OK, but Sonny was pretty out of it.

At the clinic later, Nina approached Sonny in his room as he wore an oxygen mask. She called him “Mike,” but Sonny angrily pulled the mask down and declared that his name was Sonny.

Now Sonny remembered everything, but Nina tried to protest that what they shared was real despite the fake name he’d been using.

Nina insisted she honestly loved Sonny, but he yelled that she shouldn’t say that. Based on Sonny’s stern glare, the mob boss was officially back in a big way!

General Hospital spoilers say Nina has more backlash ahead of her, so stay tuned.
