General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) could cheat with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and cause Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to blow her top over the betrayal. It would serve Carly right under the circumstances, so let’s talk about this dose of potential payback.
GH fans know Carly did something that was totally uncalled for in the July 9 episode.
Instead of accepting that Britt’s been hurt enough, Carly went on and on about her deep bond with Jason. She tried to act like Britt merely had a fleeting moment with Jason – a fling that wasn’t meant to last.
Carly, on the other hand, argued that what she had with Jason was forever. She basically suggested they were just trying to wait an acceptable amount of time after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) died to tie the knot.
Carly piled on the lies and made this whole ordeal even more painful for poor Britt.
There was no reason for Carly to be so hateful and insensitive to Britt’s side of all this. Carly is a smug piece of work right now and needs to be taken down a notch.
No one is denying that Carly and Jason have a special relationship, but he was on the verge of a real romance with Britt until this mob crisis came up.
Carly is acting like Jason is her property now that she’s got his engagement ring on her finger.
However, Carly can’t change what’s in Jason’s heart – and the truth is he can’t just turn off what he was feeling for Britt.
Even when Jason was breaking things off, he admitted he’d want to be in Britt’s bed if things were different.
Of course, things don’t really have to be different for Jason to end up there! Marriage vows get broken all the time – especially when the marriage isn’t real to begin with.
Jason loves Carly, but he isn’t IN love with her. This union is only meant to present a united front to their enemies, so it’d be easy for Jason to stray.
Jason had true passion with Britt and could be pulled back in her direction. Despite Britt’s current anger, she could also find herself powerless to resist temptation.
Will Jason cheat on Carly and betray the vows of his new marriage? Will Britt get the last laugh if Jason just can’t stay away?
If Jason does end up betraying Carly with Britt, you can bet Carly will unleash her wrath!
It could make Britt and Carly’s war even worse, so that sounds like a great place to take the story.
