General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) may gain a daughter after losing Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton). Could Phyllis find out Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) is her long-lost child as Lenny’s final gift?
Phyllis was clearly devastated over her husband’s death on the August 13 episode. It wasn’t entirely unexpected since Lenny was quite ill, but Phyllis still thought she had longer to prepare for his demise and say goodbye.
Nothing much is left for Phyllis in Nixon Falls aside from the bar Lenny left behind. Since Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) are going to wind up back in Port Charles one way or another, Phyllis may start a new life there, too.
Phyllis might find it difficult to run The Tan-O without Lenny since memories will haunt her at every turn. It could be painful and leave Phyllis craving a fresh start.
Nina’s going to land in hot water for her Sonny deception eventually, but her friendship with Phyllis is likely strong enough to survive.
Phyllis knows all about making mistakes and will surely give Nina another chance. It just makes sense for Phyllis to seek a new beginning in Port Charles since Nina’s own new beginning in Nixon Falls helped her find herself again.
Now it’s Phyllis’ turn – and there may be a big surprise waiting for her in PC. We can’t forget that Phyllis once opened up about losing a baby girl, but did that baby girl really die?
On soaps, that’s the kind of story that immediately gets fans wondering if the baby was stolen and grew up to be someone we already know – someone like Portia in this case.
Portia could use a mom on canvas to connect with, and Phyllis could use some comfort following Lenny’s death.
Phyllis could gain a daughter as well as a granddaughter in Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), who Phyllis already met when she stopped by The Tan-O that time.
It’d be great to weave all this together as a story of fate bringing some family members into Phyllis’ life.
If Lenny’s death led to Phyllis finding out their child was alive and well in Port Charles, it’d be like one last gift to his beloved wife.
