General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, October 21 – Carly & Willow Fight Over Nina – Sonny & Ava Custody Drama

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, October 21, tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) will fight over Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) deal with some custody drama. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will also get a couple of crucial visitors, so here’s what fans can expect.

For starters, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will think she deserves a gold star for gaining the upper hand on Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth). Meanwhile, Austin will insist that if the Quartermaines want to play dirty, they can bring it on. He’ll be ready to fight back just as hard.

However, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) will do her best to nudge Austin in the direction of peace. Monica may point out that there’s a chance for Austin to be embraced as a real Quartermaine, but that can’t happen with all the cutthroat tactics and bad attitudes.

Naturally, Austin may think Brook Lynn is the one who needs to stand down here. Austin was only trying to help Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda), but the autism issue will remain a source of contention for Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth).

“I hear you. I just don’t agree with you,” Ned tells Olivia in Thursday’s GH preview video. He won’t get why Olivia’s digging her heels in and turning this into a bigger deal than it has to be. Unfortunately, this will widen the rift and leave Olivia even more convinced that perhaps she doesn’t belong in this family.

When Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) visits his son ahead of his arraignment, Spencer will express surprise. He’ll admit he figured Nikolas had given up on him, but Nik will argue that he wouldn’t be there if that were the case.

Nevertheless, it looks like there’ll be another round of clashing since Nikolas is standing by Ava – and Spencer still hates her guts. Sonny will also seek out Spencer in Thursday’s episode, so that should give Spencer a chance to open up to someone who cares.

Although Sonny wasn’t happy about the stalker plot getting too close to Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), Spencer is family and will always matter to Sonny. As for Ava, she’ll sit down for a meeting with Sonny on Thursday as well.

“I don’t think that’s what’s best for our daughter any longer,” Ava insists in the preview clip. It sounds like Ava will push for a more balanced custody agreement, so there could be some sparring over just how much time Ava gets.

Next, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will meet up with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who’ll insist she knows exactly where she stands with Sonny. Nina will feel like she has to move on with her life – at least at first.

Nevertheless, there’ll be some idea that sparks for Nina later. Nina might come up with a way to stay in Sonny’s orbit after all. It’s possible Nina will pitch the idea of turning Charlie Pub into a new version of The Tan-O. We know Sonny will end up making Ava an offer for the bar, but it may be Nina who sets that in motion.

Regardless, Nina and Sonny are destined to remain intertwined in each other’s storylines. That’s especially true now that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has gone behind Willow’s back to try and have Nina prosecuted for her crime in Pennsylvania.

While Michael continues to keep that secret, Willow will fill Carly in on her worries. She talked Michael off the ledge when it came to a court battle, but she’ll still have concerns about his intense anger toward Nina.

Of course, Carly will think that anger is justified and will perhaps suggest Willow was too quick to shut down the court battle idea. Even so, Willow will stand her ground as she tries to play peacemaker in all of this.

“Why provoke the fight until we absolutely have to?” Willow asks in Thursday’s preview video. She’ll think everyone should just cool off before they do anything drastic – especially anything that could affect Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Caleb and Kyler Ends).
