The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, August 13 Recap – Victor Accuses Ashland of Faking Illness – Nick Catches Moses & Faith Kiss

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 13, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will accuse Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) of faking his illness – and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will catch Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) and Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) kiss.

At the Chancellor mansion on Friday’s Y&R episode, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will decide to do another video diary entry. She’ll tell Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) how hard it is having two of the most important people in her life be unreachable.

After expressing concern over missing Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Abby will vow not to let Chance or the baby down and head out the door.

On the Crimson Lights patio, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will seem distracted as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) chats with her. Sharon will ultimately confess that nobody knows where Mariah is and will explain the tricky situation.

Nick will try to reassure Sharon, but she’ll think the whole thing seems off. When Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) arrives, Nick will leave them to talk. Rey will admit that he used the GCPD’s most advanced technology and got past the signal blocker.

Unfortunately, there was a secondary level of security to scramble the signal so it couldn’t be pinpointed.

Rey will note that a sophisticated program had to be used. He’ll think it’s the work of an expert, so he’ll ask if Mariah had any tech savvy friends who might’ve helped cover her tracks.

Sharon will immediately think of Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), but Rey will point out he talked to Kevin and really doesn’t think he’d hide Mariah from her loved ones.

Sharon will agree that Kevin would try to talk Mariah out of staying away. She’ll fret over Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) potentially being right about Mariah being held against her will.

Rey won’t think they should dwell on the what ifs without facts, but he’ll wonder if there’s anyone who’d have a reason to go abduct Mariah.

Sharon will consider Ian Ward (Ray Wise), but she’ll point out that he’s in prison. Rey will think they would’ve heard if Ian had gotten out, but he’ll vow to look into it. He’ll also want all available info on the people who went after Tessa as he explores all options.

Rey will vow to look into Mariah’s bank and credit card usage next. He’ll think it’s time to make this investigation official, which will worry Sharon.

However, Rey will promise that if Mariah’s in danger, he’s going to bring her home.

After Rey leaves, Abby will meet up with Sharon and point out that Mariah’s response to their text intervention didn’t even sound like her. She’ll also mention that Tessa went to see her sister to see if this could be connected to her past.

When Abby learns a high-tech professional program was used to hide Mariah’s location, she’ll panic over this looking worse and worse. Later, Rey will report back with bad news since Mariah hasn’t used her credit cards or extracted any money from her bank account.

Rey will add that Mariah hasn’t made a single call, so Abby will think they have to accept that something bad has happened to her.

After Ashland convinces Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) that he’ll be fine on his own, she’ll run into Nick at the coffeehouse. Nick will get updates on Victoria’s engagement and suggest it gives new meaning to the term “whirlwind romance.”

Victoria will sense that Nick doesn’t approve, but he’ll suggest he’s going to reserve judgment until he has a little talk with Ashland.

Victoria will actually like the sound of that. She’ll hope the whole family can get to know Ashland and make him feel accepted.

At the ranch, Victor will greet Moses and Faith before leaving to take care of some business. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will embarrass Faith with some childhood stories before the teens head to the pool.

In a moment alone, Nikki will sense that Faith is holding back with Moses because she’s afraid something bad will happen as usual.

Nikki will think it’s OK for Faith to let herself be happy. Nikki will give Faith a nudge into romantic territory – and Faith will do the rest in the park later.

Faith will admit she’d like to be more than friends before Moses takes her hands in his own.

As Moses and Faith lean in for a kiss, Nick will come around the corner. Faith and Moses will pull away stammering as Nick demands to know what’s going on here.

At home, Ashland will leave a message about Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) and how he doesn’t intend to play phone tag over something as important as the well-being of his son. Ashland will insist that decisions need to be made.

Soon after, Victor will stop by and hope they can talk about what might happen if Ashland actually lives. Ashland will think they’ve come a long way since Victor was willing to let him die not too long ago.

Victor will argue that he simply wanted the contract signed and will assure Ashland that he wants him to live for decades.

Victor will consider how things could play out if Ashland’s new treatment works and he makes a full recovery. He’ll fret over the merger and wonder if Ashland will want to expand his role.

Ashland will ask if Victor could blame him if sharing control of the company crossed his mind.

Victor will talk about how Victoria deserves her moment in the sun. He’ll seem suspicious of the quick succession of events – the merger, deciding on treatment, Ashland’s impending marriage to Victoria…

Victor will consider the possibility that Ashland could recover and suddenly step in as the head of this worldwide empire.

“Let me get this straight. You’re implying that I faked my fatal illness in an attempt to put together this merger. Is that what you’re saying?” Ashland will ask.

Victor will think Ashland’s getting the drift, so Ashland will suggest he’s flattered that Victor thinks he could be so ruthless and diabolical. He’ll assure Victor that he’s very sick and can’t even imagine inventing a situation like this one.

Ashland will also want to know how long Victor would wait to call 911 if he collapsed on the floor right now, but Victor will simply shrug in response.

When Victoria arrives, Ashland will explain that Victor was wondering if he faked his illness in order to conjure up a merger. “Dad, how could you?!” Victoria will hiss.

However, Ashland will act like Victor was just looking out for Victoria and had valid concerns. He’ll admit that when he was younger, he might’ve contemplated a move like that to gain control of a company.

Ashland will offer his medical records if that’d ease Victor’s mind on the topic of his illness. As for Ashland’s love for Victoria, he’ll hope the proof will be in his determination to get better.

Victor will thank Ashland for clearing up any doubts before he heads back to the ranch.

Once Victor gets home, he’ll be scolded by Nikki for spouting off accusations. Victor will hate that he always seems to upset Victoria, so Nikki will push him to take a step back and let her fly on her own.

Back with Victoria, she’ll rant about her father’s “heinous” accusations. Ashland will suggest doing something to relax like taking a drive or going for a walk.

After Ashland’s phone gets a notification, he’ll mention that it’s from Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Ashland will point out that he left a message when he couldn’t reach Kyle, so Victoria will wonder what Ashland’s decided about Harrison’s future.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say some twists and turns are still to come, so don’t miss what’s ahead in Ashland’s storyline.
