The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, July 29 Recap – Diane Helps Harrison Accept Ashland’s Gone – Adam Reels Over Fatal News

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, July 29, reveals that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will help Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) accept that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) is gone while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) reels over the fatal news.

At Newman Enterprises, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will find Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and learn Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) left early this morning to pick up the kids from camp.

Chance will wonder if Victoria considered having Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) handle it since there’s an ongoing investigation, but Nick will counter that his sister didn’t do anything wrong.

After Chance seeks more info on Ashland’s state of mind, Nick won’t know if he was suicidal. All Nick will know is that Ashland was homicidal when he went after Victoria.

Nick will admit that in the aftermath, he didn’t think Ashland could breathe – let alone drive a car. Chance will think that’s the confusing part of all this, but Nick won’t know what happened after he left Ashland for dead along with Victoria.

After Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) interrupts and gets rid of Chance, she’ll take Nick to the park and reassure him that Ashland’s death wasn’t his fault.

Nikki will understand what Nick’s going through since she went through a similar situation when she thought she killed JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill), but she was defending Victoria and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Nick will admit he feels the same, so Nikki won’t see any need for him to blame himself – especially since Ashland got up and walked away before his car accident.

At the Abbott house, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) won’t know how he’s supposed to break the news to Harrison that Ashland is dead. It’ll leave Kyle reflecting on the day Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) told him his own mom was never coming home.

Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will get that all this is triggering for Kyle, who’ll wonder if Diane considered his pain like he’s considering Harrison’s now. However, Kyle and Summer will ultimately bolster each other as they prepare to tell Harrison about Ashland.

Once Jack brings Harrison downstairs, Kyle will talk about sad accidents and bring up a movie where the pony’s dad couldn’t be around. After Kyle insists it’s like that with “Father,” Diane will show up at the door.

Jack will warn it’s not a good time, but Harrison will notice his “Didi” and call out to her before she enters. Once Kyle gets Harrison to focus on their conversation, he’ll explain that Ashland died and won’t be coming to visit anymore.

Harrison will protest that “Father” said he’d be back, so Kyle will seem distraught over his son being in denial. Summer will give Diane updates on Ashland’s death in private and urge her to leave, but Diane will want to stick around and help.

After Diane rejoins Kyle and Harrison, she’ll talk about how plans change sometimes. Diane will remind Harrison of the day they planned to visit the park, but it rained and caused them to stay home instead.

Harrison will start to understand that although Ashland said he’d be back, something bad happened and he can’t return now. Once Diane gets Harrison to point to his heart, Kyle will back her up about Ashland still being inside there.

The whole thing will seem like it moves Kyle, who’ll admit “Didi” is more than just a friend. Kyle will tell Harrison that “Didi” is his mom and Harrison’s grandmother, but Summer and Jack won’t look thrilled about the revelation. Even so, Kyle will be glad Diane could help them on a hard day.

At Crimson Lights, Adam will stop by for coffee and see the care package Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) has put together for Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), who’s having a minor vocal cord procedure.

After Adam gets a phone call, he’ll confirm that he’s flying solo in business class, so Sharon will assume he didn’t work things out with Sally. Sharon will also admit Sally confided in her and will question Adam about his true feelings.

Y&R spoilers say Adam will stick to his breakup and act like it’s for the best. After Adam says he needs a break, he’ll fill Sharon in on his decision to fly to Vegas. Sharon will remember how she brought Adam home from Sin City and will worry about him sliding back into old habits.

In the park, Tessa will worry about her surgery and the possibility that she could lose her one true talent. Mariah will insist Tessa has plenty of talents, but she’ll feel confident Tessa’s voice will be more golden than ever by the end of all this.

Later, Sharon will give Tessa the care package she put together, so Tessa will take it up to the apartment. That’ll give Mariah a chance to admit she’s scared to death for Tessa despite putting on a brave face.

Sharon will give Mariah a pep talk just before Tessa reappears. Mariah will decide they’ve got this as she prepares to take Tessa off to her procedure.

Next, Nick will corner Sharon alone to discuss all the latest Ashland drama. Sharon will think it’s similar to the situation with JT, but something will be gnawing at Nick.

Although Nick will insist Ashland had no pulse, Sharon will be adamant that Ashland must’ve walked away since he ended up dead in the ravine.

Unfortunately, there’ll be one part of the sequence that doesn’t seem right to Nick. After Sharon asks what it is, Nick will note how Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) showed up just after they discovered Ashland was gone.

When it comes to Victor, things tend to get very complicated. Nick will also confess that he can’t trust Victor to tell him the truth.

In the park, Adam will bump into Chance and mention his Vegas trip. Chance will guess Adam hasn’t heard about Ashland, so he’ll reveal that he died in an accident – at least that’s the official version for now.

Adam will wonder if there’s another theory floating around out there, but Chance will take off to deal with other police business.

After Chance urges Adam to hurry back from Vegas, he’ll suggest that Adam’s family might need his support.

Once Adam is alone, he’ll call to cancel his flight. Adam will look pensive and indicate that there’s been a change in plans.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say the Newmans will face some shockers as this storyline moves along, so stay tuned!
